Cover Rumor Thread

This could turn out to be the best example of the current Vogue formula that we've seen for some time i.e. pad out your features pages with constant articles about empowerment, self-esteem and hard work, but ensure your cover communicates the message that what really matters in life is to be born into a rich and/or famous family.

UK Vogue's May issue is a weddings special, according to the promo in the current issue.

The hypocrisy is stunning. These two talentless twerps are literally the walking textbook definition of the very kinds of privilege these editors pretend to shine a light on and find alarming. But as is often the case, their own friends and peers get a free pass from that same examination and criticism. Perhaps in the UK there's public interest in their wedding/relationship, but I can't imagine the American public even have the slightest bit of interest. An inside feature, sure, but a cover? I perish the thought.

I saw that they only had 300 guests at their wedding, a real "friends and family only" affair, yet they made sure to make room at the $4,000,000 event for Condé editors, A-list celebs twice the age of the married couple, Rupert Murdoch, etc. Such a celebration of love! lol

The Daily Mail is reporting Romeo Beckham and Nicola Peltz will be on the cover of Vogue’s June issue.
Beyond tired of these toy boy covers since Kanye and Kim. That's not the way to paired a girl and a guy on the cover of Vogue.

Why would Vogue put Romeo on the cover with Nicola when it’s Nicola marrying his brother Brooklyn?

I read it has Vogue will have exclusive photos of the wedding to share on their website. Not a cover.

if anything with Romeo getting a cover (which I would be behind) he should share it with a super or pre-sup model like Karlie, Joan, Iman, or Adut.

^Obviously it's Brooklyn and Nicola... and not Romeo Beckham as I mentioned earlier. My mistake, but the Daily Mail article clearly does state "the front cover" of Vogue - with the wedding set to appear "in" both the US and UK editions.

Perhaps we'll get an Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre situation from 2019, when Zoe Kravitz was on British Vogue's main cover and the newlyweds made the special 'bridal' cover.

Well both American and British Vogue have wedding photos all over their respective instagram pages, so I'm hoping that makes a physical cover less likely. Edward posted a digital cover for the May issue a few days ago. It's a war-torn Ukraine cover, but the photo they chose just isn't terribly impactful or evocative. I'm surprised Mila Kunis hasn't been given more attention throughout this. She and her family, facing anti-Semitism, emigrated from Ukraine just before the dissolution of the Soviet Union. She's now raising large sums of money ($35m+) to help refugees fleeing Ukraine today and I've even seen that she's been Zoom-ing with Zelensky himself. Maybe it's cynical to say, but that seems like the kind of story and face these magazines would be alllll over, an easy and probably effective way to marry their penchant for Hollywood stars with current affairs.

Edward has endless tales of conflict / resolution on his doorstep in the form of Northern Ireland, which would fully fall under the remit of UK/the British Isles, but it's as if the region doesn't exist. Even though the situation has involved decades of suffering and many lives cut short, it probably doesn't have the right optics.

But at the same time, this area, which is still struggling with its own legacy, is simultaneously welcoming many of these displaced people from various worldwide conflicts and regimes, who are starting new lives in Northern Ireland. You don't have to go far to find remarkable stories. And on top of all of this, Brexit is still a contentious issue, because it is testing the very notion of borders between countries, and between the EU / UK. So much material, so many stories. Right there, in front of him.

Are you genuinely inclusive and interested in the issues experienced by your readership? Or is it just another exercise in window dressing?

I think I've seen one story about abortion provision in Ireland - which is now miles ahead of the situation in Northern Ireland - and a recent interview with Jamie Dornan and Cat Balfe, because Belfast was up for some Oscars. Vogue has provided greater coverage of the political situation in Barbados, you know?

Vogue Paris became Vogue France because Conde Nast wanted to sell the idea of the inclusion of everyone in the country. So I'd say, put your money where your mouth is, but maybe there's not much money anymore.

Gisele coming back to save us ALL! Cannot remember the last time I was excited to see the cover of an upcoming magazine, given the current state of Vogues across the globe right now. Very excited to see what V Magazine has for us with the one and only!

And Miss Britney Spears is pregnant!! Potential US Vogue exclusive? It would certainly be a sight for sore eyes.

I for once wouldn’t actually mind it and it could probably do her some good, getting the good old Vogue pampering cover treatment.
but I don’t see it happening AT ALL.
