The Kardashian. I was never a fan but Iām happy to say they seem passĆ© now. Like itās over. Maybe Kendall can still get a cover or random shoot although much better models out there. But there are so many more young celebrities to be featuring, if they want to be seen as so hip with it.
And you know the funny thing is, is that even some of Annaās continuous favorites from the aughts are definitely having some major movie things they could be doing covers and features for. Next year you could have Meryl Streep for the Devil Wears Prada 2 (although Iām sure Disney will ruin the story line there) and then give Anne Hathaway a cover and then give Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock a duo cover for the Practical Magic 2 movie.
This yearās covers could have been or be:
Winter: Angel Reese (keep it for filler basically)
March: Sabrina Carpenter
April: Jenna Ortega (for that movie she did and beating Bazaar to cover her)
May: Rihanna (revealing her pregnancy and wearing something fitting for the Met Gala theme)
Summer: Hailey Beiber (keep her although Iām not a fan but she just sold her company for $1 billion and that could have been an exclusive for Vogue)
August: Chappell Roan (not my favorite but bring out that good old Age Issue tagline and say something like Young Success although not successful or really talented in my opinion it would grab the attention of the young people they so want to grab who canāt afford $10,000 handbags every month but whatever)
September: me personally I would like to see one of the Downton Abbey girls like Michelle Dockert but thatās definitely not happening. But you could make it a big theme issue using the sets from the movie but featuring clothes from designers. Since it will be the last Downton Abbey movie.
October: Lily Rose Depp (a Chanel model wearing something by Blazy to showcase his work, get an exclusive of the new designer at the historic house maybe get 6 pages of advertisements with the cover star too)
November: Ariana Grande and Cynthia on the same cover for that other Wicked movie thatās coming out. Again could grab up on the hype but maybe perhaps itās going to be old news at this point.
December: Guest edit by the new Dior Director Jonathan Anderson featuring Natalie Portman. Again hopefully getting a sneak peek at his work and getting some great ad dollars from Dior.
Now is this my fantasy list? Absolutely not. Iām a broken record at this point, I miss all model covers with the very rare celebrity cover one who was actually enthralled in fashion and not just a visitor or marketing ploy. I want a more insular fashion industry again. I want to see a new generation of super models built up and promoted. Because once those famous ones from the 90s go, supermodels will be perceived as a thing from the past because the ones from the aughts are not household names like those old ones are. But that aināt happening with all these executives worried about money even though they have buckets just lying around not doing anything.
