Has anyone used the Cover FX range? I just read an article about it saying it conceals debilitating skin problems such as acne, rosacea etc..and it's results are seamless and can be used to create a flawless complexion. Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie and Sean Paul use it.
Would love to hear people's feedback on it? Is it very heavy coverage? Or can you build the coverage?

My Experience

I went to Harvey Nics today to find out for myself what CoverFX is like. Now my skin doesn't suffer from debilitating skin conditions, but I do sometimes get red bumps when stressed. I was more persuaded to try it because Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett use it.

The SA suggested I try the Natural version of CoverFX as it's less heavy coverage since I didn't really need it. She tried some shades on me and then slathered my face in the 'perfect' shade for my colour (I'm mixed race btw). After a few minutes, she was finished and I looked at the result in the mirror.....:o   :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:
OMG what had the woman done to me. I looked as white as Casper the Ghost. The overall finish was mask-like and hideous. Absolutely horrific. If you have rosecea or very severe acne, this is probably a good range for you, but if you suffer from mild acne don't bother. SA only used a tiny amount for my face (but it's very highly pigmented)
I made sure she got rid of every last trace of the stuff. Never again. I'm warning you not to put yourself through the same traumatic experience!

I work for coverfx as a Makeup artist and I can say that we can do miracle for people with problem skin. Maybe the girl who do your make up was not a cover fx expert cause I can assure you that our fondation are very great ;)

I have tried all three, overall, I like natual FX the best for results, I love love love the idea of highly pigmented foundation, BUT it makes produce 2-3x amount of oil throughout the day!!!
Cover FX, the name says it all, very heavy, just like a mask, but it does cover up everything for you, but it's extremely hard to blend the product because it has a very heavy texture, and it has a dewy finish.
Powder FX just cakes up on ME, I have heard other people with oily skin saying that they liek powder FX the best.
Maybe these foundations shows up better on television, better for photos or professional purposes, IDK.

i use this for those days when i have serious undereye circles
only a miniscule amount . .
industrial strength stuff ;]

i LOVE CoverFX!!

Hey all - i haven't been on in ages b/c i keep having probs w/ posting replies.

Thank you Hanne for telling folks about my positive experience w/ CoverFX.

As you can see from my before and after pix.. it does wonders for me.
The key is: getting the formula that works for you AND of course - the perfect match for you. A makeup artist may or may not know the best colour. Of course go with what you think works for you.

In summer - i'm finding Natural FX to be lovely.

BTW: Karina - i'm a mixed race gal myself.
Mostly Indian race - of which 1/2 is Nepalese, 1/2 is Indian....
and then i've got Spanish, Arawak/Carib & African...
so for me .. CoverFX is a miracle - matching my colour and tone.

I've been using bare minerals. I like how it's light but I doesn't feel like it covers blemishes or my acne scars. And I always feel like it makes me really shiny. I went to Nordstroms today to try coverfx. I got the cream foundation and also the mineral powder foundation. The girl that helped me was pretty cool. I had it on for maybe 3 hours. The drive home was pretty hot. With bare minerals, I would usually feel oily and gross after this and it would also feel like what I tried to cover up is showing again. But with the coverfx, I didn't feel so bad and I could tell that it was still covering up my nasty blemish. It does feel heavier than any other foundation that I've tried, but I didn't get the bad oily cake feeling from it. I'll probably wear it all day tomorrow, and see how it feels.

whooops.. My cat decided to prance around on my laptop while I was trying to post. I tried to edit, but I took too long. If someone can fix that, I'd greatly appreciate it. :flower:

What I was trying to say was:

When I had this on yesterday, it didn't seem so bad. But today, my skin is dryer than normal. I tried the coverfx first. It made my skin look even worse. I went and did a search, to see if anyone had the same issues as I did. I read something that says that it's supposed to be stippled not brushed on. So I decided to try again. I put lotion on and exfoliated. This time it looked a little better, but it still looked really cakey. My boyfriend said that it made my skin look like an old lady's :( In addition, both times I applied it, the color that I had seemed to have a pinkish tone to it. I was given E60 for coverfx and E80 for powderfx. I'm Asian but I'm very tan, and I know I have a yellow tone. I guess my questions are, how do I get the flawless look? Also, when I went on the coverfx website, it says that the M tones are more for yellow undertones. Should I have gone with the M tones instead? I guess I can try again in a few days when my skin isn't so dry. But this just really sucks. I had really high hopes for this and I REALLY wanted it to work.
