When all the stories are laid out next to one another, it’s so blatantly clear that Emma’s w/Karlie’s is the only one by far that resembles a creative eye with a story to tell, a mood to set, a tone to carry it through, and the technical skills to produce it all. It’s such a throwback to the bygone days of fashion presentation when such standards were the norm and not the exception. So unfortunate it's the shortest story of the lot.
The other much much much lesser stories more resemble test shots, storyboards, InstaGalleries than anything acceptable for an actual fashion story. James Robjant’s is decent enough— although that overcast, flat lighting and the lethargic mood veers towards teendom dreariness than heightened high fashion— which is the point of Carine’s rag, or was. And hilariously amazing how those two actually managed to mangle an Armani advertorial into a cheap, midrange department store’s aesthetic, all the while missing the entire point of Armani’s brand. It’s like a class assignment and these two only looked at department store flyers as reference. Just useless.
Saskia and Karlie had the best covers, and Karlie's editorial is hands down the best of this lot it's not even a contest. I like Abeny's editorial too but it doesn't seem like it has any real pov.
