Ok, what you're supposed to do is to critique the outfit, let the poster know what she or he did good, and what the poster could do to make the outfit even better.

We'll start with me:

(I'm wearing a vintage chiffon dress with gold sandals and a gold clutch)

scandanavianchic - your dress is lovely. what about replacing the sash with one in a contrasting colour - like a vivid blue?

what about this? sorry you can only see the top half. the bottom half is skinny blue cords & blue cons.

GREAT THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the bow on your dress!! The dress is very dressed up, but not overkill. Much more pleasing than a plain old black dress. However, I would add a necklace. Your neck looks like it needs some sparkle.

Helena - is that a vintage trench? Very nice. The colors are quite muted, but that's the look. I think anything bright would kill it.

I like how that look works  I would add a sequined bolero, black tights, and a gold belt on the waist, and voila, you look like me

Lovely! The way you're standing in that shot reminds me of Mischa Barton.

haha I totally see that now that you pointed it out!

Helena I keep meaning to post. LOVE your outfit. I think the texture of the sweater and like someone said, the fact that the colors are muted, really pulls it together. adorable

Helena and Scandanavian Chick, I like your outfits, both. SC, the color of that dress is so pretty! It looks very good on you. Helena, I agree, the combination of colors and textures is visually interesting and pleasing.

Well, this isn't what I'm wearing today, though I am wearing a stretchy Chinees-inspired top (red) and some wide-legged trousers with integrated belts around the ankles (so I can pull them in to look like hardcore harem pants if I want) I may go dig out my disco jacket, though. I lurves it!

Anyhow:

scandinavianhic: That dress is lovely! But I agree with TheSoCalledPrep, the outfit needs a nice neclase, in my opinion something simple, short in either gold (to fit the shoes and bag), green (to fit the dress) or pearls (classick).

As You Like It: Beautiful jacked! And goes well with the skirt :) but I think the top doesn't fit.

Here's my outfit:

I'm wearing a vintage dress with a golden clutch and orange shoes from Bianco, green short vintage neclase that I fixed and a green feather hair pin that I made. :)

I love your outfit Helena, the scarf and the jumper are absoloutly gorgeous, i love that texture

Betty Boop- the dress is quite pretty but I would prefer it with some round toe pumps or mary janes.. A shoe that would be considered maybe a more modern take on a classic.. and maybe some tights

OOh yes in rereading my post I would like to say I do love the look just giving suggestions on a variation for it!! :flower: very lovely.. Didn't you used to model??
