Daily Exercise

The most challenging is the early morning workout...if only because my professional work ethic is NUTS :p. I get into the office before most gyms are open! But in truth, I wish I did - it's a great start to the day.

Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated. :flower:

You are very welcome..:flower:
I have often wondered if there was any benefit to early morning workouts.
I like the idea of pre-exhaustion, techniques, and often like to exercise last thing at night.
I believe the Austrian Oak did his stuff early.
I did find this article.....

Chrisdesigner , yet again my friend - solid weight set. This part of my workout has something to work towards. Thanks.

I used to combine the curls, and barbell French press. but changed routine, so not sure theres going to be any benefit? Physiologically, it feels like im doing less.......

just started working out again this week after literally YEARS of no exercise
2 mile jog
500 crunches

Awesome....i totally agree, its never too late!
Thats quite an achievement, after years of no exercise.
Congrats...hope it hasn't hit ya too hard.

Thank you for the motivational quotes rachfisher.....:flower:

Keep up the great work everyone.....:woot::woot::woot::woot:

Today i moved 5 Tons of gravel, so gonna wait till tomorrow to hit the weights. Well, thats my excuse, and im sticking to it....;)

I'm not going to quote posts anymore on my work computer because for some reason, it does not work!SirSunday- I'm glad you kept us updated on your race date!!Chrisdesigner- The workout that you described is what I call "natural exercise" and totally counts. Ran poorly last night, but at least I got a workout in. 5 min warmup jog90 seconds 5k pace90 seconds slower3 min 5k pace3 min slowerAnd repeat

And apparently my spacing does not happen when using my work computer either. That post looks so disorganized and run-on. Maybe that's my sign I shouldn't do TFSing at work.

okay here goes nothing! i'll just put them in as direct links so i dont clog up the forum.

poster (in two parts)

postcards

:woot: thank you so much for posting these!!! a couple of my girl-friends at work need the motivation to get back into exercise. love the phrase: NO There isn't anything I cannot do. and the last image of the girl flat out on the floor is my favorite

I remember reading a similar article about the early morning workout...It follows the rationale for eating early and frequent meals throughout the day as well. Based off my current schedule, it just isn't going to fit in right now...I'm a fan of running in the evenings...I'm already mentally drained, and slightly physically drained from the long work hours already. It makes me wonder if I'll be better off for my 10K that kicks off Sunday morning. We'll see. :innocent:

Haven't read much into weight training at this point...perhaps you're using more muscle groups simultaneously, so it feels like less effort?

Take the night off, my friend. We're all entitled some rest.

;) *cough* April 27 *cough* Good workout, my friend.

As for me: crappy day. Ran 6.5 miles with a buddy - needed the stress break. Didn't monitor the pace or heartrate though...this was a talking run...and I was able to keep up the breathing normally! Small victories. :D

Great posts and Great work everybody! :flower:

Possibly...i cant find the article that details the technique. But im a great believer in listening to ones body.

Totally cool. B)

Today:
Warm up, and stretch.
Eight sets of barbell behind neck press, increased weight on last four sets. All with negative reps.
Four sets of dumbbell lateral raises.
Four sets of standing, side to overhead dumbbell flys.
Four sets of barbell upright rowing.
Four sets of barbell shrugs.
Four sets of barbell straight legged dead lift.
:woot:

Yeah Chrisdesigner!! What was that about looking good in your b-day suit???!!SirSunday....running 6.5 miles is no small victory...I think its a great one!!! You could have been blue in the face and panting at the end and I would still say great job! Do you have any pre-run plans? High carb dinner perhaps? As for me: Ran at the lake again last night. This time south toward downtown. I saw the beautiful lake on one side and the beautiful city on the other and was so in love I barely noticed I was running! Did the same old 90 second 3 minute intervals

I did this 30 minutes jogg this morning, but I got really dizzy from it. Does someone know how come? My condition is really bad though, I'm out of breath when I'm walking up the staircase (4 floors) to my appartement already.

There could be a number of reasons.
A whole load of information would need to be given, in order to properly evaluate reasons.
You need to seek medical advice.

That's why I love running on one of my lake trails. Great job my friend, setting yourself up well for next month.

Tomorrow is my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. We're talking FEAST for dinner. Sunday morning it'll probably be oatmeal and an energy bar...and then I'm a runnin'!

I was off today! :woot: Ran 6.5 miles this morning with a friend to focus on pacing and energy conservation. Ran the first 4 miles at about 75% of pace, normal breathing, light sweat (it's warm today). Ran the 5th mile at 90% of pace. Ran the 6th mile at 90-95%. Sprinted the last 1/2 mile. :o Umm...let's just say my body did not enjoy it at the end...:innocent: And in case you're wondering...my buddy outkicked me early on...so I was trying to save face. ;)

^wow thats pretty good...Im not really consistent in working out. I do it for two weeks straight, then when something comes up like I have to work extra hours or do a big research for school and finals, I stop for a month or two. I should probably write my work out schedule on a calendar so I can think that its something I HAVE to do. I need to get my health back up!

That is a good idea - if your schedule is already regimented for work and extracurriculars, you should fit your exercise routine in, even if it's only for example 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week. Follow this thread though, we have a lot of folks who are just starting back up again - I only started back in January! Good luck! ^_^:flower:

everybody run... gosh, i miss running but i had some kind of knee injury while falling down the stares and i also had some kind of leg injury for excercising too much.
so i had to skip running for something more knee friendly.
cyckling! i love it. i do spinning classes and also when it is summer i do long bike trips

now i have a flu and all i wanna do is to go gym and do hard core excercise. *sniff*

i am such an excercise freak, it really shows if i go two days without doing something

Who wouldn't be addicted to feeling good...:woot:
I have trouble sleeping if i don't workout on my set days.
I love to workout when im ill...within reason of course.
Those "endorphins" etc...certainly have a kick ...;)

"Salute"...everyone.:woot::woot::woot::woot:

Planning to do a little running today, but I fear my ankles. They always make "clicking" sounds whenever I run (why is that? :innocent:).

Any previous injuries in that area?
Any pain?
Stretching can be beneficial and cod liver capsules...although if this persists, you might want to consider seeing a chiropractor or orthopedic.
