Daily Exercise

- 2km walk around a park.
- 15 min. morning yoga.
- 30 min. roller blade.

Not much, but at least it's something. ^_^

35 min. elliptical
20 min. weights
10 sauna :)

SirSunday - 4.4 miles is quite a run! I'm not in very good shape when it comes to running. I'm trying to run 2 miles without stopping, but haven't accomplished it yet.

ive been doing the eliiptical for 20 mins a day since my mom got it a few weeks ago.. but its making me more muscular rather than slim down like i need too :S

*Kristina* :woot: Not much = at least some solid cardio, and overall body fitness checkup ;) Excellent work :flower: I don't know if I want you to tell me what "not much" running is

cutxpaste Fantastic workout - and what a gorgeous city to walk about! I'm jealous  Great job :flower:

spiritedwildfire :innocent:that sauna workout sounds exhausting! don't strain yourself too much ;) Great workout :flower: take it easy on the running - as long as you continue to try to walk/run the distance, you'll get to a point where you are joggin it the entire way - just make sure to go at a pace where you can breathe comfortably. i could barely run a mile at the beginning of the year!

Carrme it sounds like you're doing the elliptical properly which would mean: 1) you will burn fat, however 2) proper form will tone muscle. Walking, jogging, running, rollerskating/blading, bicycling, swimming, aerobics etc. would probably be more beneficial for burning calories.
Obviously you're seeing results so soon - Superb job :flower:

As for me, this morning:
30 minute weight training - focused on arms, shoulders, and chest.
woke my sister up and ran 3 miles!

That makes alot of sense to balance both eliiptical and walking..haha Thanks sir <3

What should you do if you want to make your butt/thighs a little less muscular?

Are the butt/ thighs already muscular?
If not, its going to depend on sets, weight, and how many reps, nutrition etc.
Ideally for toning, one could choose a variety of exercises, swimming, cycling, squats etc, and keep additional weight to a minimum.(If any)
For example, three sets of squats, 15-30 reps, two or three times a week.
But, losing fat from body, generally is removed evenly all over body. Hence cardio is great toner.

If squats are to be included in any exercising, please be aware of "form" and "technique" .

Ran out of Karma , in this thread....

ran in my neighborhood for about 30 min, I had forgotten how much harder it is to run outside versus inside on a treadmill

spiritedwildfire

As for me: ran 4.4 miles (2 laps) around my favorite lake this afternoon. Needed nature, the warm weather, and sweat to get over a rough day.

I'm so jealous of your warm weather! It snowed here again, so I haven't been back out to run :(

:woot: great workouts, buddy - your workout today would have HURT me
and on the karma - my friend I think it's paying out handsomely on the thread.

how much harder it is to run outside versus inside on a treadmill

;) precisely - it is more difficult. On a treadmill, you're basically running in place. Outside, your body is exerting energy to propel forward while your feet are adjusting to impact with changing terrain. Great job though ^_^

hello dear! i actually don't like the warm weather :innocent: but you make do. and i'd rather you stay inside than deal with the wind and slippery conditions. *cough...April 27...cough* :p

beautiful chilly Easter morning: ran 2.2 miles around my favorite little lake here...because this afternoon is feasting...and i didn't want to feel guilty...:innocent:

Jog/ran (rogging?) the rest of the way home about 5 min

- 20 minutes of strength (weights, squats, abs)
