Daily Exercise

I keep trying to maintain a good daily exercise regime and then I just eat junk food after working out, it cancels the other out and oi, it makes me feel so silly. -_-

Totally agree with Adorefaith.
In addition i would add that muscle burns calories more than its counterpart.
Yes...even when its not exercising.

"Question: How Many Calories Does Muscle Really Burn?
Answer: Most people know that muscle burns more calories than fat but, just how much more? Ever since I got certified more than eight years ago, I've been told that a pound of muscle burns anywhere from 30 to 50 calories per day. However, after doing some research, I've found that number isn't accurate. In fact, a pound of muscle only burns about 6 calories a day...a lot less than what many of us thought, but still more than a pound of fat, which burns only 2 calories in a day.
If you can expect to burn 6 extra calories for each pound of muscle you have, you might also wonder how much muscle can you expect to gain once you start lifting weights. According to Dr. Cedric Bryant, Chief Exercise Physiologist at ACE [1], the average person usually gains about 3-5 pounds of muscle mass every 3-4 months. Of course, how much muscle you put on is based on your genetics, gender, exercise program and diet, so each person will have a different response to weight training.
So, what does this mean? That you shouldn't bother lifting weights if you're trying to lose weight? I think you know the answer to that question. Even though muscle doesn't burn a huge number of calories on its own, it's still more metabolically active than fat and very important for weight loss. In fact, one study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology [6] found that, though weight training doesn't burn as many calories as cardio, it significantly increases average daily metabolic rate - the perfect foundation for losing fat."

I did the same as the last post yesterday and will probably do at least some ab exercise today.

Today:
Jogging for an hour.
700 sit ups.
:buzz:

Glad for a day off tomorrow.
Hope everyone is doing good.:flower:

Great exercising everyone! :D

Today I went for a 20 minute powerwalk/run (I switched between the two). If I feel okay later I'm going to do some strength work.

i was having a convo with my sister about summer being two months ago so we agreed to go to gym twice a day..i already failed today but im not trippin'. we were supposed to go this morning at 7am but i slept at 5am so when she called me at 6:30am i was like noooo. i ended up sleeping to 1pm. but im going to gym tonight! its easy to go after work because its a closer drive..driving from home is just too much sometimes.

goals :
* i need to get back into jogging, im not much of a runner at all..in fact i hate it but i like to do interval training(?) run a bit, walk a bit, jog a little bit. changing it up keeps me from getting bored.

* rowing machine..it really helps my arms. i havent done it in a couple of weeks and notice the change..a bad one haha

* stairmaster..i can stay long but i need to up the speed again. i used to be so hardcore now ive been taking it easy because i skipped a week during spring break, dont want to go too hard and get sore/discouraged

* maybe do some abwork but im mostly focusing on cardio!

i dont like powerwalking because it looks weird and embarassing....
i prefer running...

LOL I thought that too, but I tend not to give a **** what ppl think so I do it anyway. I find power walking to be harder than running...that's just me!

i like power walking. it is very good variation instead of jogging ^o^. esp when you dont feel like running at all.

and i dont mind people as well. btw try do powerwalking but backwards and then talk about people staring at you. XD

went to gym tonight after work

* 10 mins on treadmill because my shins started hurting..im not much of a runner but i havent had this problem till about 3 weeks ago, ever since then ive been trying to take it easy. *le sigh* i want to get better at jogging but body isnt coorperating!

* 100 cal on rowing machine

* ab workout

* 20 mins stairmaster

* 30 min elliptical

* and tried a new machine. looks like treadmill but its like split in half and each side where each foot is goes up and down, feels like you are walking outside. i likey :)

THURSDAY:
1h latino lesson - it was like an aerobics class but with latino dance movements and dancing to Beyoncé and so on

FRIDAY:
45 min hip hop / funky lesson - I didn't like it a lot because it wasn't that much, I mean, it wasn't hard enough :unsure:
45 min aerobics lesson
abd. and butt exercises
1h pilates lesson

Question!! :p: yesterday night I did a pilates lesson and today my neck hurts so bad! While I was doing the exercises, the teacher had to correct me a lot because I wasn't doing it well. She mostly complained that I wasn't 'pushing the navel to the spine' but I don't know how to do it! I mean, do I have to push all the belly to the floor, or what? It sounded so strange...

i only did 20mins on the crosstrainer yesterday...today i want to do an hour and a half...wish me luck :rolleyes:

Woohoo!! Great work, I really can't do so many sit ups!

Thank you :flower: Fantastic work yourself!

In answer to your question, i found this:

"Abdominal and low back exercises
sandi healey
cascade athletic club trainer, triathlon and swim coach
nasm certified personal trainer
bs exercise physiology / minor sports medicine

For all of the abdominal exercises, pull the navel into the spine, brace abdominal muscles as if you were about to be punched in the stomach (suck them in). If your back feels like it is straining, or you can no longer keep the abs pulled in, stop the exercise. If you can’t do more than 10 of one exercise, go to an easier version, or an easier exercise."

hour of walking - to the shop and back.

30 minutes of power walking.

various excercises for butt {from butt excercises thread ^o^} and legs

Great work everybody O.O

Oh, in addition to Sandi Healey's advice, there are a number of "Pilate" videos on utube, which may be of some help.
