Daily Exercise

My friend is doing 200 crunches a day while I stooped down from 100 to 20. It makes my tummy so sore though.

Starting Monday though (i always make plans but seriously i am going to work hard to keep this one up), I'll start doing 35 throughout the day cos all at once is a killer. Plus my new diet and daily exercise = bona fide results for a beach body!! :woot:

Does anyone mind if I start posting in this thread? I'm training for a 5k with my friend, and I'd like to lose a little weight/tone up.

Yesterday I ran about 2.5 miles along this gorgeous trail that's all wooded, but I'm paying for it today! I usually just run on the treadmill, so now my quads hurt! So no cardio today, but

100 crunches of various types
40 triceps dips
20 push ups
inner thigh stuff (my friend has an old thighmaster that I really want to try and pretend to be Suzanne Somers!)

i use to be able to do 100+ crunches before bed [when you do it properly, that's a fete]
but strength training was more effective and less torture

1 hour of one tough Pilates personal training session on machines. We even had another trainer come over to watch me do magician on the Cadillac because she was so impressed. I feel like the Pilates rock star :boxer: :p

Wow that's fantastic! Go you! :woot:

What's it like doing pilates on the machines? I've always wanted to try it!:flower:Is it better for you than doing floor pilates?

Kate_Moore :flower: hope you feel better soon, dear.

I'm really too lazy to join a gym. It'd be a money drain for me because I know I'd never go. Ever. Sheesh. What do you ladies and gents suggest as a good way to get daily exercise in? I just can't motivate myself to do anything. And is it better to run on your treadmill with an incline or not?

 hello dear! i think you'll see that we have a fair mix of people that have home gyms, no gyms, and gym memberships. seeing as you mention a treadmill - use the incline feature. you'll feel it more in your hips and calves, but it's better work than running straight with little to no resistance. it would be better to run outdoors though...:innocent: any kind of cardio would be good - and if you need the right motivation and have access (perhaps the Y, or maybe a university pool?) swimming would be great as well.

Keep at it, dear. Your city-block walking is beneficial too.

:woot: not at all!!! it would probably be an issue if you'd stop posting after this, though. :p that is awesome!!! when's the 5k? keep up the great work!!!

speaking of 5ks...:innocent: shoegal2183, dear, how's it going? ... *:yuk: 2 weeks from today...cough*

Couture_tribe and kissablekae - that is a cautionary tale...please be careful...and it's unfortunate, but predators lurk at the gyms too. i'd say self-defense classes, just in case, would be great workouts as well - and this is a suggestion for both genders.

Chrisdesigner - :mowhawk:much respect.

EVERYONE - great work!!! :woot::muscles:KEEP POSTING!!! :D

As for me:
Saturday - trailbiked approximately 4.5 miles (to be honest, i'm not really sure how long it was, but my calves were killing me last night).
Sunday - woke up super early today - 30 minutes of weight training, shoulders, arms, abs. ran 3 miles.

^that's alright dear. i did the workout for both of us today ;) but you burnt some calories from the chewing and lifting the food to your lips, so that qualifies as some exercise :D

I am totally about to do Carmen Electra's Striptrease! I will probably maim myself, wish me luck!

SirSundayyyyyy....2 weeks:shock: !!!

I went for a short run yesterday. It began to run and I was getting a stomach ache. One or the other I would deal with, but both was unenjoyable. I decided I want to run for pleasure!

Last night worked serving tables for 7 hours...something I havent done in a long time! So my legs and feet are sleepy. Maybe a day off??

Take a day off, dear. :flower: We don't need you coming down with something. ;) I waited tables in high school and college, so I know being on your feet for that long, maneuvering through tables and lifting trays is a workout!

You have to start somewhere right!? Mine is there, bwaha! How do you guy get motivated to do exercise? That's my problem!

exercise for me has been an outlet for stress - however i also wanted to feel better about my appearance - not having played organized soccer in the last few years had taken it's toll on me. additionally, the girl i was dating recently made it a point to belittle my "physical" flaws (btw, can you say "dropped her like a hot potato" earlier this month - just not a good personality to be involved with). yet i digress.

Oh, what a total jerk! I'm glad you dropped her, you deserve much better. And now you're looking fly and ain't no girl gonna know what hit her! <3

I guess for me, it's just hard to go yes I will go run because it feels like a losing battle because I get home and I'm like mm pasta. :( Life.

good for you! drop it like its hot!
i understand getting sh*t from family but i dunno if i could or would take comments from someone i was dating/boyfriend. recently i was just thinking to myself : if a boyfriend of mine ever gained weight/got out of shape..would i say something to him or would i just still love him as is. it just makes me wonder. ive never been in that situation before. i have friends who are going through that right now, the boyfriend is doing the right thing and just letting her be..although the girlfriend confided in me today that she can only fit one of her (designer)jeans now so that means she will finally start a work out plan and start watching what she eats..actually the boyfriend has gained weight too but neither of them care about that because she was always the looker in the relationship!

i was so tired after work i didnt even want to go to gym but i wasnt going to ditch my sis!

abs 60 reps
arms 45
treadclimber 20 mins while watching "The Fifth Element" on TNT. Milla Jovovich  swooonnn! damn i still remember how beautiful she was in Return to the Blue Lagoon! & Chris Tucker is hilarious! ive seen that movie so many times that i know all of the lines! of course they always forget to put the captions on at the gym! "Kuh kuh Korben..i i have no fire!"..."ahh whats wrong with chuuu!! *starts walking out* BZZZZZZZ"

Took a couple days off, Saturday and Sunday. Back to work tonight though!! Great work everyone!!

Thanks everyone for your nice comments! I'm feeling much better today, even if I still carry a horrible cough with me....:ninja:
Well, Sunday: 35 min stepper
Today: 45min pilates lesson - 45min steps lesson (last one is exhausting)
30min walk

Keep the great work coooooming! :flower:

Great to hear you feel better....B)
Sorry to hear you about the cough.:(

SirSunday Great posting, and awesome work.:magic:

Awe-inspiring ...everyone. :buzz:B)

Today, warm up, stretch.
Twelve sets of dumbbell bench press.
Four sets of pull overs.
Four sets of dumbbell flys.

this morning a 30min jog/fast walk
tonight 40mins pilates

I've been doing a little exercise here and there but now i'm truly motivated. I have a party in 2 weeks to go to and there will be so many people i haven't seen in about 4-5 years. I'm not out of shape but i need to totally tone up so they don't look at me and think how i let myself go!
