Daily Exercise

^ I heard horse back riding is good exercise. At least is should be, I'm always so sore after riding for a while.

Well I tried Madonna's sample workout from her trainer yesterday, I just did the treadmill exercise which was sprinting for one song, skipping for one song, galloping for song song and repeat it for 30 min. I am so sore today, could hardly move to make my gingerbread men cookies. But it was worth it!
I also did three different kinds of crunches, I'm not sure how many though. I definitely feel it today.

I thought horse riding was only good exercise for the horse?

Thursday: 30 minute walk

no way, riding kills! It really works your thighs and core because you have to balance your body and sit up straight etc

Try both and see how you feel but I would keep the morning runs easy and do the longer faster runs in the afternoons or evenings when you have had the whole day to warm up and get loose.

I did two-a-days for CC in university but our morning runs were always easy runs to go through the motions and get a little extra miles in.

Faster runs including intervals, fartlek, hills, and other high intensity runs we always did in the afternoons--about 3pm...

In the morning, do you eat or run first?
Thanks for the reaction:flower:

Got a Nintento Wii for christmas yesterday, and now I just did some boxing for 2 hours - and I can tell you that TOTALLY counts as an exercise! I'll probably have serious muscle age tomorrow

Yesterday: 35 min run outside, 10 min jumping rope, crunches and stretching

Does anyone know of any good fitness/health blogs? Preferably by a female. I'm looking to tone up and would like to see someone else in the process of or has changed their fitness level. Thanks!

stupid question: what do you do 3 hours on the bike? do you listen to music or what do you do to not get bored? or do you drive outside?
thanks :flower:

That isn't a stupid question. It is an important question.

Choosing a course with hills and heavy traffic usually makes things interesting.

Also, I cadence through various songs in my head at various mental paces impossible to call up at will through any external digital or analog device carried on the fly.

Remember listening to digitally compressed advertisements on the radio? We have all heard them--impossibly fast talking sales pitches. Well, our own brains do the same thing when we run through memories.

Various compositions I concentrate on during a ride may be a string of what I heard that morning on the radio in addition to songs I liked from many years ago. I was never comfortable wearing headphones of any type on the run or on the bike. I tried it a couple of times and it just sucked. I am more comfortable carrying as little as possible.

On top of all that is the computer on the bike. It indicates average speed, maximum speed, and overall distance. A few glances at this device during a ride gives me a very good idea if I am having a good day or not.
