I do not recommend this for everyone. There are better ways to stay fit:
The week ending July 25 I cycled 341 miles. That's about 19 hours in the saddle in one week and I have a regular 40 hour a week day job--I often go to work at 6 am and leave at 2:30 so I can have enough daylight to get away with this. I took a few days off cycling after that and I'm contemplating going for 400 at least one week in August. I don't know if I can pull that off because things are beginning to go wrong. My skin is suffering terribly from the heat and humidity, I'm just plain getting tired, and I had a crash last week that has given me a slow-healing road rash up and down the left side of my body. The pros deal with much worse but I am just an amateur trying to enjoy the outdoors and stay fit...I figure I will make it to 400 but it might be more of a misery than a joy. If it is a misery I may never go there again.
