:woot:  :buzz: Can I say I'm IN LOVE!!! This campaign is amazing!!!!!!! Especially that first shot where Daria is alone.....it my breath literally caught in my throat. Gorgeous.
Exactly :woot::heart::blush: She is just soooooo beautiful. The legs, I mean, that is one of the best images of a pair of human legs I have ever seen. Utter and unspeakable gorgeousness  I like the second pic too, but oh the first

I'd like to see what eword has to say about the fact that Du seems to be playing the masculine role in the Cavalli ads, while Daria is playing the sexy woman.

Although I must say, the Du/Daria shot is great too, but despite the fact that I think Du is a great new face, I don't think its doing her many favors to put her right next to a model as experienced and talented as Daria.

does anyone have that picture of her wearing a jean vest with a white tee shirt underneath and skinny grey jeans and brown boots? i want those boots. can someone post that picture. she was at an event i think... her hair is down,,, thanks

I love the second image, and I love the color combinations between Daria and Du, but I do feel that Daria's flaw IMO, which is that her face is not flawless, and Du's flaw, namely that she's new and has a few things to learn about expression (contrasted by Daria's great posing skills), are apparent here. Nonetheless, it is beautiful.

Interesting that you think that Du is playing a masculine role. Of course Du has the masculine outfit but it is the adventurous looking Daria who is kind of dragging the rather scared looking Du along. So to me, Du looks very feminine and Daria more masculine, despite the clothes. I guess it's mixed signals.

that's exactly what i was about to reply.
daria is dominant. i wouldn't say that dominant means necessarily masculine, but in a gender conception... that's the effect.
maybe that's why they put that sparkle in the other pic... to make things... clear! :woot::lol::D

well, cavalli is always in the line between chic and tacky, so also the pictures have some of it. red eyes, sparkle, maybe that's also ironic.

Looking at it[the ad], I think that is what they wanted to acheive. Although Daria is the gown, Du is obviously the submissive one. Ha, good marketing, I'd say.

LOVE the ads. And dude, that sparkle made me crack up.

i'm curious to see further images of this campaign.
she's definitely playing the role of a nocturne postmodern vampire who's bringing her victims (du juan) with her...

av never been so big on daria but i gotta say, her cavalli ads rock!

Oh definitely! It's definitely Daria who's the predator here, a stunning predator in a killer dress. I think it's Daria who's playing the ultimate Cavalli woman in these ads, and that's what I love about them; it is the only campaign I've seen thus far that has a creative message about what kind of woman the brand is supposed to represent.

Cavalli ads--wow. That's basically all I can say for now.

That's a good point - of course feminine doesn't have to mean submissive - and that is exactly what Cavalli is all about. So, paraphrasing Callidora, this is a fantastic set of ads because it conveys the Cavalli spirit from the best possible view point. All the same, the idea of Du as male in that particular pic is very far from my mind - there's something so quintessenitally feminine about Du, although she does look a bit androgynous in her lone pic.

You know, that strategically placed sparkle is a good observation. I was just thinking about Bowie's Heroes video but you're right it's a femme power statement ;):flower:

I'm not visiting this thread very often, but this is probably repost, right?
