Dark Hair, Big Bangs

I wanta complete hair overhaul but I can't decide between Irina's bangs or Nicole's.

^^ I prefer Irina's bangs too, they are so striking and I think they really highlight the cheekbones...the thing to remember though is that the Irina style fringe requires a lot more maintenance than other styles...I have a similar fringe and it requires frequent trims to keep it in fighting shape...I learned how to trim them myself to save on salon costs...

I really like this look on certain people but it doesn't suite people with a small forehead at all. Mine is small so it wouldn't suite me either..I would love to have such a haircut though..

I know what you mean, I have a small forehead as well but I've really wanted bangs for a while. The only reason why I still hold on to idea is because of Selma Blair. She has a small forehead and she's like the poster child for bangs.

I don't know how to go about it though, I also have a more square face, so I have no idea if they'll suite me. I guess I should cut them from higher? Anyone have suggestions?

In July I got my bangs/fringe cut but I still can't figure out how to post a picture here that I have on my email (computer illiterate, yes)!! I've since had to cut them twice myself already, because my hair grows really fast. Second time I did it with kitchen sissors, which was not such a good idea, but I got away with it. Now I've bought myself a new pair of "hairdressers' sissors" and I'm just waiting for the full moon to approach to cut them again.

fall is here and sticking with my 6 months plan.. as soon as the temperature starts cooling, i'm totally cutting my bangs regardless how much my bf objects this

How long you've been trying to grow your hair ? my advice is not to cut it constantly cause I think it's a total lie that it grows faster

Great thread. My hair is long bobbed with a heavy fringe and honey blonde. I think a good heavy fringe can just make a haircut look so much more edgy.

Big bangs for dark hair look their best when they are unprocessed, bangs a bit past eyebrows, with straight hair (not too polished or styled like the above pics of the singer) that is AT LEAST past shoulder lenght.

That's the most elegant way/current romantic mood of doing it.....

The whole idea and mood is a throwback to the Francoise Hardy days, long hair, with bangs past eyebrows, very au naturel.

Mmm I concur. My most current hair is down to mid-back, natural color (medium brown), no layers and with a fringe. I think the whole 'fringe/bangs' thing starts looking really trendy and very *scene-like* once you start adding layers and different techniques. I like the naturalness of just a simple cut and fringe.
