THE MONEY ISSUE

This month, youth unemployment topped one million. Meanwhile, tuition fees have trebled, the EMA has been scrapped, and firms like Vodafone and Barclays continue to avoid paying vast amounts of tax while we are told planned cuts to welfare and the arts must go ahead. At the heart of all this is money, the one thing that none of us can live without, but so few of us really understand. In this special issue of Dazed, we try to take a cultural look at the big picture, and ask how we got here… and what can be done.

I hope there's some properly thought-provoking content in this issue, or else it'll just be the same old contradictory take that fashion and style magazines have on financial issues, where you get a few pages analysing the issue, amid a sea of content that aims to persuade you that spending all your rent on shoes is a sign of self-worth.

It'll be interesting to see the content. I certainly don't want to buy a pretty-looking reminder of my misery /overdramatic.

Andrej's ed is amazing

I like both Andrej and Suvi`s editorials, but I don`t get the connection between the editorial and it`s title. "Eat the Rich" come on. It`s too forced, so that it could just fit the theme of the magazine.

Andrej`s ed is spectacular but some of the shots are just too much

i love katie shillingford, and i love alex box, but the was roe has shot the ed above just ruins it....flattens it and makes it look cheap

not really looking forward to reading it because a youth-oriented magazine like Dazed writing about money is probably going to come across as a bit cringe-inducing and preachy.

nice eds though, Dazed shoots have by and large been consistently good lately.

as usual there is only one feature i like with suvi but it's a very good one!
