I like! Some of the dresses are SO old-school Ghesquiere for Balenciaga (scuba, much ), but the coats!

I think this is one of his best collections ever. I'm happy he's really ascended to a the competetive point he's been striving for. Lots of strong shows this season. If I were a buyer I don't know what I'd do.

Looking at it again in those style.com pics, I seriously love it! Absolutely gorgeous, I really want all of it.

Balenciaga and Rochas don't show in New York, so Derek Lam brought them here. But Proenza Schouler does, so I don't know what his excuse is for that one.
The above is just my way of saying, I see the references to Balenciaga, Rochas, and Proenza in this collection. Lam anchored the different looks together with a well-defined palette, but that doesn't make up for the lack of his own voice.
I like Lam better when he is reinterpreting Chloe or Marc Jacobs. As much as I like Lam, I don't think he should make a career out of molding different looks together. His earlier work promised a vision of his own--not a groundbreakingly original vision, but a vision of an observant young mind who understands classics and edits them well, and it is a shame that his creativity did not shine through this season.

Dont be sucha smart *** guys, get a real job in the fashion industry and you will know whats like out there. (I am talking about designer collection level.)
From concept to sketching, PV, PD, traveling once a month to correct proto, fitting, casting, editing, runway, PR, order, sales, make it to top stores.........(many more!) and employ more than 20 people in 3 year, you go ahead achieve something close to it and post your thought again.

Its referencing to other older collections by the likes of Balenciaga (most notably), Proenza Schouler, Lanvin is quite absurdly obvious...Though it looks like a mix bowl of old salad, you know it's gonna sell quite well because of its wearability
