I like it and I am particularly happy that they used one of my favorite looks from the catwalk show. A nitpick - I like the boots a lot, but I think they are a tad clunky for that look. Not only were the clothes great, but I thought the show had great accessories, so hopefully we will see more of that. Also I like Derek Lam's eye wear, so hopefully there will be some eye wear pictures too.
ETA:
Rereading my post, I sound like I am making a birthday wish list.
Well anything Maryna touches in my eyes turns to gold
so this campaign is no different...I love its simple and effective way
although I am getting tired of the sand...Ginta lounging at the beach...Karmen running in the desert
Yeah, desert and sand seems to be Derek's (or Solve's) thing for the campaigns - kinda like Kors and his jet setters. I don't know if it has ever been discussed before by the designer or photographer, like is it supposed to be a woman's sojourn or something like that. I think this one is the most subtle and least cheesy use of the theme, although I did like the drama of the man's shadow falling over Ginta in the SS 2010 campaign.
Gorge. The setting compliments the clothes so well. There's nothing fussy about this and Maryna looks so poised the pose just goes so well with everything.
The million dollar question is: Why does Derek Lam like the color brown on the backdrop? I love Maryna in this one though. Much better than Karmen and Ginta's crepe paper desert.
