the venus is retailing for $750USD, the brigitta for $725USD...

:buzz:I want each of them! omg soo expensive! Don't they have a student-reduce or something?...

these shoes are gorgeous....i totally would get them, but feel like they're too expensive for shoes that are likely to look dated in a year...?

and...this is the first season derek lam did shoes....and he doesn't know feet!

Like his first season doing bags...they were super super heavy...

so these shoes might hurt badly...plus they are wooden soles!

i don't think they're pricey, but i guess that's because i've seen balenciagas that cost over $1000...
it seems shoes, like bags, are getting more and more expensive...

i wonder who is making these (since pierre hardy makes balenciagas)...

they are by tods' factory.. they are actually quite nice but i must agree that wooden heels are the most uncomfortable shoes ever :(

kimair - thanks for starting a thread for these shoes. i was obsessing about these for the longest, including the Kiri style (see below, from style.com).

if anyone is interested in who's carrying which style and which colors, PM me. i contacted someone at Derek Lam who told me who's carrying what in terms of shoes and colors.

for sure, NAP will be carrying his shoes.

i went to the neiman's here today and they had the venus in green patent and black patent, the brigitta in tan patent/mushroom leather and the kiri style (pictured above)...

i tried on the black patent venus, and the fit was very narrow...
i wore a 7.5 (i'm usually a 7) and they still felt too tight...
the platform wasn't too uncomfortable, but for $725, i wasn't going to get them and hope they stretch out...

^ thanks for the update kim. I was thinking of getting the geen patent venus but I usually have to take a half size up to account for my wide feet so I dont think these would work.

I agree everything desginer seems to be getting more and more expensive. It's kind of crazy, soon I wont be able to afford it at all. It seemed the average when I was just biggining to buy designer was like $450-$500 and now it's $700-$800 for a pair of shoes.

i am guessing his accessories (shoes) are very specifically for those who want the look NOT the fit.
they are really not comfy. bu they are getting better for winter 07 and also more styles to choose from.
i passed on his shoes this season...
