what is designer shop fright?
it's the feeling low and intimidated when in a designer boutique like chanel, dior, lv, valentino. this usually happened in people especially teenagers and even adults with not enough cash around to throw at the face of some haughty salepersons who like to give you-have-this-kind-of-cash look. it's quite common in asia. i used to have designer shop fright also. but now who cares?
i just go in if i want to see an interesting pic from runway and touch this touch that and don't buy anything and go out.

((((((((((ooooppps sorry wrong thread)))))))))please remove this

i kind of had it before, specially since the first boutique i ever set foot on was gucci, i was accompanying a cousin, but of course i knew i wasnt gonna buy anything... now, i dont really care, i enter with a semi-haute attitude and just browse as i please... :p

lol....unfortunately I have this!! Whenever I go to the mall and pass by a high-end boutique, I never have the guts to actually go in haha I just glance by, I guess it's because I know that I'm not gonna get anything:blush:
Although, I am quite shocked that I did go into the Versace boutique^_^

Oh yes. I am so guilty of that. I am even afraid to touch the clothes afraid that I'll put a stain or make them fall. : |

well i think if you are wearing reasonably good, you won't have the fright or trembles.

i am a teenager myself but like toohipforbrooklyn have said, just browse as you please.

i like to go to designer's shop and get inspiration or touch this or that and start critising the usually lousy quality but expensive price tag clothes.

but most of the time, the high-end boutique won't have clothes that you see on the runway isn't it? (the fancy ones i mean) the racks are usually the items that were mass-produced or those ugly logo-ed items. don't you think so?

it's only the concept store or reseller stores that are getting good stuffs. oh well.

and i remembered entering a Burberry boutique and there was a big sheep there. and my friend and i just asked if we can hug it? and before the salegirl can reply anything, we were already hugging it. haha!

well not all salesperson are that scary and without smiles or with their nose really high up. they are also working for money and not rich themselves afterall!

i just dont pay any attention to the people working there

i'm there to see the clothes, not their sorry ***es

yeah, 15% is taxed on most items in most provinces. although some things, like groceries and books are at a lower tax rate.

a lil off the whole topic..but im so glad we don't have tax on clothes and shoes..that's why when i go into the city i'm kind of hesitant on buying things because i can get them tax free

at LV in toronto, i was looking at a pretty knitted jacket thingy, and an old senile lady grabbed it from me and was like "i'll put that back, thank you" and i was like "oh sorry i wasn't done looking at that" so i took it back off the rack and dropped it on the floor, said "ok I think I'm done now" and left.

i sometimes get it, it depends what designer shops i'm in. I can go anywhere in london and not care its just a couple of shops where the SA's are bitchy Vivienne Westwood is the main one also i was in McQueen yesterday and one of the SA's (a guy with an american accent) was really b*tch towards me because i kept trying stuff on and everything was too big:lol: I'm too scared to go into vayage i heard it used to be by appointment only so i've never tried to go in there

I never have had that fright but my friend has and she never wants to come to high end boutique...

omg ! I have that too! ESPECIALLY if my clothes are little dirty or ripped! I feel like a hobo!
