Designer Update : Mugler designs for Beyonce's tour

Same here. i've been in love with his work since ever so I really want to see all the costumes Bee & co will rock on her world tour stages. I'm sure we'll see a lot of Thierry's "oldies". Can't wait :p

hmmm....I guess I'm one of those who love the *idea* of Mugler more than actually liking the clothes....:p

yes i've read abt this collaboration some time ago. definitely a must-see! beyonce spectacular perfomance (did u not watch Beyonce Experience, y'alls?) and Thierry Mugler designs both on one stage is something beyond perfection!!!

but i heard that he designs only some part of the wardrobe (most of it maybe) as the rest is still by the dereons (as in the mom...) still,, it's worth waiting!

Beyonce is soooo boring. For me, it doesn't matter how hard she tries, it doesn't matter if she wants to wear a piece of the Eiffel Tower in her neck, she's always going to be boring... she just doesn't seem real to me. Plus, IN MY OPINION, she should ...

i actually don't like that dress on beyonce either...
i don't know if it's the angle of the pic but the hips are just WAY too exaggerated and that's not a look that i like on her...

I feel the same way. I mean, she's one of the last people who needs to exaggerate her hips. It's not doing her figure any favors, and it makes her waist look non-existent in that view from the front.

^^I like that a lot! And as much as I LOVE Jerry Hall in Mugler, I have to say I think Beyonce looks better in it.

I really am loving this collaboration...it just seems so perfect.

And I was just thinking Jerry looked 100x better

I like Beyonce's curves just the way they are, but I feel his designs shown earlier in the thread work much better on her than this one ...

i don't like her music and i think her figure is a bad match for mugler's look, but i'm just excited to see new mugler designs (fingers crossed for actual new ones...). he is actually designing for her, as opposed to her merely wearing old mugler items?

^ i agree about her figure not matching mugler's look. but like you, im also excited to see new designs by mugler! :D

^I feel the same. Not fan of her music and think Terry Mugler's designs work on her figure but it is pretty cool to see how it works out^_^

Not every outfit flatters her, but a revival via Beyonce is better than seeing no Mugler at all.

^ hhhhmmmmmm. thank u.
wow at the designs of first pages. and i dont like Beyonce's image at all but he's a fab designer.

I guess somewhat beat me to posting them. lol

I'm interested in seeing how these costumes actually look on Beyonce.

The duality between being a woman and a warrior.”

That’s the spirit Thierry Mugler wanted to capture with the costumes he designed for Beyoncé’s upcoming world tour, and from the look of these illustrations, he succeeded. The tour kicks off today in Edmonton.

“Sasha Fierce is another aspect of Beyoncé’s personality,” Mugler offered via e-mail. “She is Fierce on stage and Beyoncé in real life. I tried to understand these two sides with my own perception of both aspects.”

The look pictured here captures that duality. It imagines Beyoncé as a tough, chic, superheroine type who likes her power glam with a bit of froth; hence, the bow bustle and mismatched gloves that pair lacy fishnet with articulated metal.

But don’t expect Beyoncé to stay in that guise for long. “There will be a lot of dramatization and metamorphosis on stage,” Mugler promised.

The designer said he and Beyoncé share “the sense of mise-en-scène.” As the tour’s creative adviser, he has worked on all of the show’s visual aspects — lights, sets, costumes — while “working hard to achieve her dreams. “He describes the costumes as “very elaborate,” and rooted in the songs’ meanings. “Feminine. Free. Warrior. Fierce. As a creative adviser for this tour, it is my responsibility to make her vision come true,” the designer said.

I am still clueless on why Bey is wearing those fetish shoes. Anyway. We shall see how this all turns out. Also, what is wrong with her figure? Muglers designs seem to be very waist-focused and being that beyonce has such a small waist and curves in all the right places, I think the match is perfect. I think his designs would look absolutely stupid on someone who had no waist to hip ratio and was shaped like a ruler.
