John Galliano - Designer

At the end of the day John’s a cautionary tale. It’s a pity that one of the greatest couturiers in history fumbled it but there’s nothing to be done about it. I don’t know if he’s still at the age that he can reconstitute his brand or handle another megabrand. I don’t know if he wants that, or is he content to just creating? The caliber of his talents though needs the sustenance of a full on atelier.
The problem with John is that a lot of people want him to recreate his past. They wants the outrageous John when I think at some point, we should want for those designers just to express themselves, maybe on a smaller scale, do their own thing.
I’m glad Phoebe found her lane without trying to compete with Celine.

John for me should be like Hervé Leger. He created his little Couture house. Dressed wealthy women or those who wanted to splurge under his Herve.H Leroux maison.

I only care about the clothes so the idea of seeing John just do clothes is fine with me but I know the mass want huge productions for clothes they won’t maybe buy.

Well be careful with what you wish for then. Everyone wants the ostentatious, unabashed, Dior extravaganza Galliano back and that was certainly part of what added to the creative environment.
I prefer his pre-Dior days (1993-96)...I´d love for him to be creative without drugs though (if that´s possible for him).

I mean...comparing KK with a Hitchcock actress?? High as a kite...!

Your talent only sharpens with age, so we want to see John Galliano back in action with his own atelier as soon as possible. I’m absolutely serious-Franck Sorbier’s got an atelier. Let’s take a page from K-pop fans and start lobbying people to make this happen.

I have to say John better not use his possible last run to make mold covered coats. We want clothes we can buy, John. Like replace the mold with sequins and we are good.
Not at all. More the opposite probably.

I think Galliano did it all already. He is a legend. There is no need for him and for us to have him in another house.

His menswear is sooo like 😭 that fun gay trash was really a moment in time its full stride. I found a steampunk blazer of his for like $100 that’s cut to look like it’s so tight that it’s about to bust open. It’s not my size but I couldn’t pass up on it it’s too cool.

I would love John coming back now that the rumors about Galliano the brand are out (LVMH cleaning the paperwork for a sale).
I don’t need extravaganza just do your bias cut and the tailoring.
It would be great to have a designer who knows what a pair of scissors is.

for that i can open ig or one of the 10 ru paul drag race franchises and assault my eyes without guilt

It definitely drove Dsquared for several seasons of hypersexy mens collections which then in some cases literally informed Riccardo Giv... The throughline of that tony ward hustler working boy. And hoodies

People dont get that John literaly made hoodies and sweatpants able to be high fashion. Like without John there wouldnt be cashmere hoodies anywhere. They were absurd until very recently like 5 years
