Designers for UNIQLO

it's like regular uniqlo...
i got mediums in the dresses i bought...

the elastic waist had a surprise...
the BACK is open..
well...not really, but it is..you'll see...

:P

*just to add..
i stopped by urban outfitters afterwards, and saw a lovely silk tunic...but that was $88

i admit to feeling quite smug and self-satisfied with my $59.99 dress in my shopping bag...
^_^

i didn't even know about the juliana jabour collaboration til i saw her stuff in the oxford street shop the other day. i was so happy cos she's one of my favourite brazilian designers! i bought this really nice blue stripey dress, that's loose and comes with a belt on the same fabric. i wear it with a thin brown belt tho. i love it!
i wasn't too impressed with the other designs tho. a black dress with a huge bow on the back (bows are her trademark) and another one with a really tacky print. don't remember the rest tho, it was like 5 different dresses

I got the dress with the pleated skirt, and the half white half gray one.
I only with they would've added a slip to the pleated dress; I wore it out yesterday and the skirt was flying all over the place in the wind. I'm glad I put on tights!

Did anyone else wait in line to get in? I did and felt pretty silly. But I'm still glad I got the dresses in the sizes I wanted.

when did you wait plasticine?

i went on friday around noon and there was no one around...

I got in line at 9:00 and waited until 10:00 to get in. The line wasn't too long; although at the beginning, the PR girls were only letting people in groups of 10.
By the time I left, there was no line outside. I suppose I didn't really have to get up early for this one. haha.

I went today--the racks were absolutely loaded with stuff, much to my surprise. Only the dress with the pleated hem appeared to be selling out.

But I bought the black elastic waist dress and I absolutely adore it. Flattering in every aspect and actually quite chic! ^_^

...
what do you think about the length laika?
you and i are about the same height right?
5'4"..?

i think i want to shorten mine..

nooooo...i am just barely 5'3" :angry::P

I had a hard time with the sizes. The xs hit me right above the knee, and looked really good, but it felt just a wee bit too snug to be comfortable.

So I got a s, which needs to be hemmed a bit and possibly taken in around the hip area...of course, if i could just loose this pesky 5 lbs i wouldn't have to bother...:cry:

I'm sure you could hem it even shorter and it would look great on you!

I can't believe I forgot about the Alexander Wang collection

I only went today and all they had left was the waistcoat dress. It looked very unflattering. I wanted to try on the other 2 dresses they looked so good in the pictures.

laika..i returned it today...
i would have had to chop 1/2 of it off in the end...
and i couldn't figure out footwear..

but i kept the one with the pleats...
that one is sort of a no brainer for me...
and i liked it so much more than i thought i would...

cannot believe that it's all gone now...except the vest dress
which should have been the best seller ...:o
i guess it didn't fit anyone right...
:ermm:...

May I ask: Have you worn the dress with pleats out yet? And if so, how did you wear it? I'm just curious because when I wore it, the wind was certainly no friend of mine. I ended up having to run home to put on a slipdress and stockings that I cut off into shorts.

steven alan is doing a capsule collection sometime this spring for uniqlo apparently.

Uniqlo will be working with Steven Alan and Opening Ceremony as part of their Designers Invitation Project. They've also tapped Shipley & Halmos for a women's collection, and Gilded Age for a men's line. Steven Alan will offer shirting, and Opening Ceremony has designed something...with a lot of zippers. "Humberto Leon, an owner of Opening Ceremony, said one thing he learned is that 'when you order this much, the cost significantly decreases. We had to ask ourselves, ‘How many zippers can we really have in a garment?’ The craftsmanship is there. They executed all our details on an amazing level.” Womenswear from Steven Alan and menswear Opening Ceremony will arrive in stores in March, to be followed in May by items from S&H and Gilded Age. All will be priced from $19 to $79.
(info from racked.com)

it seems that their line that specializes in t-shirts is called UT and that UT has the designer invitation project too.
the brands/designers for this spring include ato, gvgv, mintdesigns, soma design (somarta), and suzuki takayuki.
it all sounds good, especially suzuki takayuki.
there is not any mens stuff there though.

mintdesigns and ato are already on sale.
the rest will come out next month.
