Designers for UNIQLO

there are actual designers that designs uniqlo? o_O
really?
most of the stuff has nothing (little, strictly speaking) to do with designers.
but there is a capsule by a guest designer once in a while,
which this thread is about.

a few items by halb (kiminori mori****a) are now on the market.

edit: don't mind ****

when i was in NY, i was so disappointed by what i saw in the stores. everything looked boring (and this is coming from someone who loves basic styles) and cheap. i didn't get the hype at all. at the time, there were a couple phillip lim pieces left over and they all looked weird...did not know what to make of that green plaid dress. :ermm:

sad to hear the cashmere is not that affordable.

wish they had an online shop for u.s. shoppers. come on, get it together!

:flower:

i agree, most of the garments i see at uniqlo are too watered down and too basic. (including the "designer" stuff)

having said that though, the quality is pretty good.

actually the stuff that alexandre plokhov for cloak did, last winter(??) was better than what's been done now. the stuff that the designers are doing at target look better than what i've seen of uniqlo though.

most of the plokhov pieces were just rehashed/watered down versions of existing cloak pieces though!

Alexander Wang, one of my favorite designers, is designing a capsule collection for Uniqlo S/S 08! I can't wait. Juliana Jabour, Tim Hamilton, and Loden Dager are the other S/S 08 designers.

here is a pic of the alexander wang garments...style.com

^^^That is so awesome that he is doing a version of his vest dress! That is probably my favorite of his signature pieces. LOVE IT!

Does anyone know if the London or Hong Kong stores stock the 'Designer for Uniqlo' collections? Thanks!

I was just in London and in one of the Uniqlo store (Oxford st or Regent st? I don't recall) they had some designer tees.. but honestly I didn't find it very inspiring (can't even recall the designer name).. so I only gave it a glans.. and then I left the store

hmmm...
all good choices i would say....

though i was kind of liking the japanese designers they were working with before...
i bought a couple of things from those...
but nothing since ...

maybe some alexander wang would be cute though...^_^

^ that alexander wang vest dress is cute! Any idea how much will it be in stores?

my guess is $39.99-$49.99...

:P

just based on past experience...

The debut of Alexander Wang and Loden Dager's collections for Uniqlo is still more than a month away—plenty of time to get as hyped up as we are for the clothing. Here, we've pulled all the looks off of Uniqlo's Japanese website and galleried them for your viewing pleasure. Again, May 30th is the drop date.
