Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

LOOL!
Really? Everybody knew that he was going to launch menswear...(at least in Paris).

So he was trolling everybody with this non-sense. I mean kudos to him, his #new job thing was a clever thing to do right after Phoebe’s departure.

He is such a clickbait!ahahahha

I have to admit how smart he was doing all that show on Instagram just when the Phoebe's news came out. Creating hype all around you for...this.

Not precisely interested or looking foward about the menswear tho.

It's just as well, I suppose. It would be a mistake for him to take over elsewhere when, to me, he doesn't even have a well-established point of view yet.

Somewhat looking forward to jacquemus mens, not because it’s gonna be groundbreaking or avant- garde, but since I don’t wear stuff from the likes of Gareth Pugh or even JWA, this works for me. But it will probably be another option from the likes of AMI, carven mens, or msgm, which isnt such a bad thing, real contemporary clothes with nice color combis, with decent price points at least, what’s there to hate?

It might not be what everyone was expecting but I'm honestly so excited for his menswear!

Wasn't Mutterlein talking about Jacquemus taking over a job that begins with an L? I wonder if she knew that his new line would be called L'Homme Jacquemus. I wouldn't be surprised tbh, her hints are always so good...

Can you blame him? Lol. He's trying to milk every inch of publicity that he can get. It's what star designers do after all. They live for this sort of thing.

Riccardo Tisci is the new Chief Creative Officer of Burberry.

Yesterday WWD reported that Guillaume Henry was out at Nina Ricci, but the brand later denied

It's like crying wolf, though. Next time he does it, I'll think he's assigned himself to clean the washroom ;)

Could it be Chanel ? Karl has a life contract bla bla but it's weird that Jacquemus just posted a picture of him with Karl below his big announcement ?

Phoebe will take Chanel once Karl descends from his throne. Mark my words. Until then she won't be designing for anybody else.

I don't think it will be very long before Karl retires, because he doesn't look healthy and it seems to me he uses his beard now to camouflage his less than good health/frailness.

Thought the same when I saw some pictures a few weeks ago. He looks beyond fragile.

Since almost none of the recent rumors have materialized as true I take this with a grain of salt, but recently heard Virgil will replace Kim Jones at LV and Nicolas is not too happy with the choice.

LOL that would be HILARIOUS

There was an interview in Grazia with Amanda Harlech and the last question they asked her was who would replace Karl and she said something along the lines of that it was inevitable but she doesn't want to think of a life without Karl. She basically skirted around the subject but it is literally a question on everyones lips - who next?

I think what they need to be careful of is that they don't become the next house with a designer who doesn't impress and they jump from one to the other (a bit like Lanvin at the moment). Chanel has an established consumer that doesn't want to see it change so dramatically which is why I think Hedi would be a mistake. I'd like to see Phoebe there I think she would be respectful of the brands DNA whilst putting her own mark on it - just as long as we don't get a slurry of Juergen Teller campaigns to accompany the collection.
