Zambernardi should have gotten Raf's job, to be honest. Zambernardi will probably be a good candidate to take a creative director position, but his age and extensive career at one house might turn off most CEOs.

Not surprised. Three captains on a ship is just too much and Raf seems not a pleasure to work with.
After this news, I wonder if the announcement of Miuccia's retirement will come earlier than all us of expect.

Imagine how loyal Fabio has been to Prada where he has basically worked all his life (over four decades according to WWD). I'm sure he has been offered many positions at other houses in the past.
He's now 59 so if he still has the energy, he could be up for a CD role. I can see him at any Italian house really. He seems more like someone who prefers to stay in the background though.

Prada Group was never that great about making business decisions at crucial times (the whole Jil Sander/ Helmut Lang debacles come to mind), but the bet on Raf could be their ultimate mistake. We'll see where it ends.

I haven’t liked Prada for a while now, it’s become cold and pretentious and manipulative whereas before it was always beautiful and hugely desirable in an off-kilter way. They never had to try hard , it was always meaningful and complex. Now it’s those triangle logos everywhere, and that might work in the short run, we’ll see what happens once Miuccia has gone.

I guess the H&M money will do good for his personal finances and his brand but I really believe that his Calvin Klein collaboration was much more beneficial. It’s a pity that they didn’t went for a more permanent partnership because it could have been a viable success on a long term.

I guess this is H&M answer to Zara and the Rhuigi guy collaboration.

I don't think anyone, let alone an average consumer of the H&M's menswear, will care about this collab after the first round. H&M doesn't have any fashion-related reputation anymore, they've been lagging behind Zara so badly that it's just embarrassing to go their website. At the same time, the quality is getting worse and worse with time. Even the Mugler-related hype didn't really bring anything except a one-off income of cash. So yeah, good luck with this endeavor.

Seems like it's for real this time... I'm told a certain French luxury brand is finally letting go of their designer (who should've been gone a few collections ago already)... Announcement should be made after show season... A surprise to now one when it's finally announced. Hope they can finally bounce back to relevancy.
