Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

Amen! Giorgetti's tenure at Pucci was a disaster that no one could have predicted. I am glad to see him focus solely on MSGM.

Can't say I'm sad to see him go. It was just a bad fit from the very first collection he did at Pucci.

The first sign of change is that the Meiers will work together on both the men’s and women’s collections, and they are embracing the coed format, starting with the pre-collection.

I'm so glad, Pucci might actually start making good clothes again.

I hope!
I was happy to hear Giorgetti left Pucci. His Pucci was terrible. But i'm not sure his own MSGM will be same as it was few years ago, before his short tenure in Pucci.

Wow.. who's going to end up at Pucci now? I hope they sex it up again!

The biggest question, I think, after that Chanel Resort collection - WHO WILL REPLACE KARL?

Well we can always go back to those Hedi rumors.

Some people (myself included) want Ghesquiere for Chanel but he's better off setting up his own brand at this point.

^^
Do you really think that Karl would leave Chanel after a random resort collection?

I'm sure the Weirthemers & Karl have already figure this out. I would love Nicolas Ghesquiere, Haider Ackermann or Phoebe Philo...And maybe just because he is a couturier, Alber Elbaz.

One thing for sure, the designer will have to work in Paris...So i can already remove Phoebe from the list.

He will go on until he can't draw/direct anymore, he doesn't have to show himself anymore and continue just like JG at Maison Margiela.

Speaking of JG, it'd be amazing to see him at Chanel

I love Karl as much as the next person, but my god I am counting the days to his retirement from Chanel. It's so beyond overdue. I just feel like there's nothing left for him to say there, so every collection is this theme-y nonsense, it's reaching Tommy Hilfiger territory. The brand needs a breath of fresh air, and I don't think we need to get to the point of Hudson pushing him down the catwalk in a wheelchair.

^^
Weirdly enough, nobody seems to want to see him leave Fendi

While not entirely opposed to Karl leaving Chanel, considering what some houses have become I'm sort of scared of that breath of fresh air that might come.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for some news considering Alber Elbaz, I really need a fresh take from him.

Alber would be a breath of fresh air. I would like to see a softer and more feminine Chanel. Karl's Chanel is very hard and stiff, stuffy even. As long as Alber can liven up the suit every season I think he'll be given total creative control. Chanel can't turn into another watered down brand (I'm looking at you Louis Vuitton and Dior) it just can't, that would be the end of it.

This. I'm terrified someone like Maria Grazia will end up in charge and destroy everything that Karl and his predecessors spent so much time building up.

I'd love to see Alber's take, or oddly enough I'd love to see what Haider Ackermann or Chitose Abe would do in this position.

Chanel has 8 massive collections every year with 6 fashion shows, who can take such pressure and workload? really few. as for Alber, well no offense i think he is great, but he just doesn't get that vibe and power, his work at Lanvin already kind of boring for me, Chanel may wear him out.

worst case, Chanel may "die" with Karl, the way Dior does, the brand may never get back that kind magic until many years after.
