Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

....yeah, not sure about this especially for this particular label. Emphasis on this being Ann D.

(I'm going to be honest and say I'm really not a fan of LDSS at all)

Wow, the most random pairing ever. Nobody saw this coming. I guess the owner is ready push the brand back into the conversation again

I have no expectation for this. Surprise me Ludovic. Now he has to put his tailoring and dressmaking in use. No more parade of sheer naked dresses since this is Ann Demeulemeester.

He is going to do Ann D dirty with his sheer garment verging on the territory of vulgarity!

This is either going to really good or really terrible, but it'll be interesting regardless.

If this isn’t a giant WTF, I don’t know what is. How the hell can anybody look at LDSS’s crap and think “This would work wonders for Ann.”

Ann had such a strong vision & definitely her own unique style. And he has none of that.

Could Chloé get yet another designer?

"The sales of Richemont’s Chloé may be on the rise and the French fashion label may be set to be profitable in 2022 for the first time in many years, but morale at the brand is low, several sources told Miss Tweed. Chloé’s design and management teams — including CEO Riccardo Bellini — are finding it difficult to work with Chloé’s creative director Gabriela Hearst, in place now for two years, industry sources say. “That’s what happens sometimes when someone doesn’t need the salary,” one senior industry source said about Hearst’s diva behavior. The time may have come for Richemont to hire yet another creative director for Chloé. There is talk that British designer Clare Waight Keller could return, several industry sources said."

From Miss Tweed

I'm not sure this is a reliable source, but that's some juicy bit of gossip anyway.

Why did Claire Waight Keller leave Chloé in the first place? I don't exactly remember. Was it the LVMH money or the prestige of Givenchy?
I wouldn't mind her return to Chloé. Honestly I stopped looking at Chloé with Hearst at the helm after the first two seasons so almost anyone would be an improvement.

Allegedly, she was about to take over Ralph Lauren, but he suddenly decided not to retire yet.

Oh God I hope so.

I have a new found respect for Keller after seeing what happened to Givenchy and Chloe after she left.

She's a consistent, experienced, and talented designer who makes beautiful clothes. And that counts for a lot!

^I can see why she decided to leave, though. She claimed it was time to go because she felt limited by the aesthetics of the brand. Furthermore, in an interview published after leaving Givenchy, she said she would like to design for mature women as she feels that group is left behind in fashion now. That said, it would be such a pleasant surprise to see her following the steps of Karl who, after all, also had the story of coming back to Chloé.

I am also ready to see Gabriela go. She's not talented at all and now there's the alleged diva behavior. I hope the CEO will go, too, because it's his fault she was hired in the first place. We all know why the decision was made and the ethics behind it are rather questionable.

Regarding the legitimacy of the source, I believe they were the first outlet to break the story of Natacha Ramsay-Levi leaving the brand.

Broke this news to a friend who has friends working at Chloé.

He wasn't surprised. Apparently she has "despicable manners" and is a "total c*nt."

^ I do not, of course, know Gabriela Hearst, but I do think she's sincere in her ideals--and that's something very much needed in fashion IMO. Just want to point out the double standard for men's and women's behavior. No one should be a jerk, but I know who gets called out for it much, much, much more.

Wasn't Daniel Lee called out for doing pretty much the same thing?

I didn't get the feeling that there was any bias because of her gender.

Another source reported that the in-house dynamic at Chloé with Hearst is a "sh*t show".

Seems like this has more to do with the fact that she's an entitled and privileged person who doesn't really know how to treat other people.
