The position for the fashion part is about the RTW collections they are selling on the website and through some retailers.

And the CD for fashion is detached from the Couture part.

I would have loved to have Riccardo Tisci as a guest and permanent designer for Gaultier.

They tried (LVMH and the press) to turn him into the « next Karl Lagerfeld ». A Renaissance man who can be at the helm of many different houses, collab with everybody and everything under the sun and it all flopped. Yes the commercial success was there at Dior, absent at Fendi but above all, the critical success has never been there.

And that’s what Karl got: critical and commercial success. Even when people were tired of his big shows, they still enjoyed it.

So when you are not renewed at the position of 2 big houses not even a decade in, there are not a lot of things to be happy about lol.

What is happening is a reminder to all the pseudo analysts and journalists. It’s really difficult to maintain commercial success without critical success.

MGC hasn’t last a decade at Dior, Alessandro Michele hasn’t last a decade at Gucci, Kim Jones hasn’t last a decade at Dior and Fendi.

JWA is leaving Loewe because he wants to. And he is leaving after a decade. NG is going on 15 years at Vuitton.

Those are examples of the perfect balance between Art and commerce.

Crazy to think NG has lasted so long at louis vuitton. A testament to "dont fix if it aint broken" but i guess he has such a wide repertoire. Sky is the limit with him, when you think he is running out of gas he comes with some crazy collections
