Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

Allegedly, this designer (whose work is very "inspired" my his mentor's) is leaving the brand very soon. Another one bites the dust...
sean - mentor JWA
or
demna . mentor mergiela ?
pieter mentor raf ?
vaccarello - mentor hedi ?
or
the new lanvin guy ?

lol

I can see this being Julien at Rabanne he's been there over 12 years and his POV for fashion is completely out of step from their core products 1 Million and Invictus. If that's the case then maybe Rousteing can come in to harmonize the two departments
I didn't realize Dossena was at Rabanne for that long. Rabanne really shifted into like a diffusion line of Ghesquière's Louis Vuitton.

Me neither, but I don't think he would leave Rabanne without any more lucrative opportunities coming.

Also some things I heard regarding a now very John-Lewis looking London brand... Allegedly their CD's contract is ending next year and KJ could be back in the conversation to take over...
You always “hear” something, none of which comes to fruition…not as far as I can recall.

Isn’t there a rule that says “no gossip”, and that we should only post material from reliable sources?

But it’s 7:03 EST, so I digress.

It's the very first rule in Terms and Rules. It used to be aggressively enforced back in the day, which is partly what made the forums popular and reliable but once activity went down, mods relaxed about it, which was cool until membership was opened and now hearsay, salacious gossip, a bit of slander and the occasional dick contest that stems from flexing pseudo-insider information is 99% of this section when FW is not happening. In The News (should go back to being called 'Rumor Has It' to make room for this) requires credible sources too but just to restore some quality here, I think there should be a general D&C thread there where everything that's unconfirmed, non-official or cannot be backed up with a source, should get dumped moved there. It should be something like this thread (which also requires sources) but about rumored industry changes instead of behavior.

It's more on you not recalling than anything, my friend  I'll never (or rarely ever) name names directly a- because some of us work in this industry and it's easier than you think to track back what you hear, b- that'd avoid trouble for this forum hence why I'm always mindful of the wording, and last c- i don't owe anyone anything :flower:

The ones that share get crucified by always same ones that have only opinions like or dislike and micro manage to a time when the forum was glorious :innocent:, like you said those that know agree can't proof by exposing your contacts and names and who said what when etc when people are bounded by contacts and non disclosure, the industry like many works on intel and gossip which is a muddy area any ways.

Last time i check there's no finders fee on this forum lol and if it's just a reactionary forum based of official press releases and not a place to discuss hypothesis than its very limited type of discourse.

Pls keep doing your thing i always look forward to read your scoops and hints and it helps to cross check what i know at times.

1000000000% you owe anyone anything ..people can skip who they dont like to read or believe or value their input!
Sticking to the subject and not the writer.

Best part to read on here is the possible moves that are happening and what it could mean for the future.

Thank you dear @PDFSD , much appreciated and I return the compliment.

At the end of the day, you and I (and a couple others here) share intel to contribute and fuel the conversations of this forum and give a sense of reality to the smoke screen that is this industry. Sometimes we share intel that ends up changing because guess what? People change their mind and situations change too.

Yesterday marked my 20th tFS anniversary. I've been here for two decades, back when it was mainly used to check shows and get magazine scans. Now that engagement isn't what it used to be across all forum sections, I think some should be rather grateful that certain users go beyond the "i hate this collection" type of posts and provide some insight on the industry to keep this place alive, otherwise I'm not sure in which state that forum would be.

None of us will risk anything for an online forum, so if some have doubts or refuse to believe until it's official, like you said, they should just scroll.

Burberry has just announced they cloned Joshua Schulman and he will take over role as creative director for the brand.
