Johnny Coca has exited Louis Vuitton after five-and-a-half years as its director of women’s fashion leather goods and accessories, WWD has learned.
One of the industry’s most prominent handbag wizards, Coca is probably best known for his work under Phoebe Philo at Celine, which became a major player in elite handbags and accessories.
He went on to spend five years as Mulberry’s creative director before being recruited by Vuitton, where he had worked earlier in his career

Contacted by WWD on Tuesday, Vuitton confirmed that the brand and the designer had decided to part ways.

Well that's interesting. I wonder where he's off to next.

they would need someone like him at gucci if they are smart , because the last guy Bellatini the CEO lady moved from ysl to gucci is useless .
He's talented for sure and would be an asset to Kering Group. I wonder if they can afford him though.

My partner knows him from his time at Celine and they caught up with each other last year. I will be curious to know his next moves.

In the most ideal case, Pierre Hardy would return to collaborate with Ghesquière at Vuitton, not only in the capacity of footwear-designer-in-chief but also for all the more fashion-oriented bags (I can't applaud often enough to how greatly the handbags range at his own brand developed over the past years!).

Alas, at this point all I hope for is for Nicolas to be headed elsewhere entirely…

That move always make me burst out laughing, total nosense from Bellettini.
YSL have the worst and most basic bag lines among all the competitors with the Cassandre logo overload, why move the guy from YSL to Gucci?
I have to say they had very nice bags design for Gucci in the SS25 show with the east west Bamboo with the fluo colored handles and the Gucci Go bag but they both flopped hard because of terrible marketing and clueless decisions. The current bags selection comprises of Marmont, classic Horsebit and oversized half horsebit details styles, they are not even pushing the Jackie anymore after the Sabato version with the cost reduction clasp flopped so hard.
Balenciaga under Demna in 1 season had better bags releases that what Gucci ever had in the past...2 years. Why not moving the Balenciaga bags designer instead of the YSL one?
