Diesel has officially shut down thier limited 1st-class line "Diesel Style Lab". All of the Lab style stores are in the process of shutting down. The one in NY soho has actually closed.

I love the Diesel stuff, but the other day when I was looking up thier stores directory, i found that these guys have tons of stores world-wide, even in Siberia (with all due respect to Siberians, im only pointing out the expansions). That makes the Diesel merchandise the most easy access to all. I hate the fact that I go over-seas and find someone wears the same shirt I brought !!!! thats why i was disappointed to see the style lab brand goes away.

Anyways, Im hoping to find a good replacement for the diesel jeans. Take-two, energie and many come to mind. very disappointed.

I know nothing about Diesel so forgive my ignorance...stylelab is a more upscale version of diesel (but in similar style) or goes in a completely different direction (say DKNY vs Donna Karan?).
I know there was a Stylelab section to the 59th st Diesel store in NYC, but it looked kidna like the same stuff...)

i'm glad to hear it...i never liked their stuff...and i guess i wasn't the only one...because if it had done well...more people would have bought it and they wouldn't be closing...

thanks for the info guesswho...and welcome to tfs...

2nd. it looked like regular Diesel anyway, except with higher prices.

I actually find it sad. As I’ve already stated in another thread I actually think there were some interesting ideas in some of the collections. It was very hit or miss (mostly miss) though.

The only Diesel Style Lab item I have is this belt, which I really like. And it was on sale on YOOX for really cheap. Other than that, no Diesel for me. So I don't really care.

That belt reminds me of the white one Faust has...I could be mistaken though

Kinda the same idea, but they're actually quite different. Faust's Ann Demeulemeester belt actually zips into two, and the general design is a bit different from the Diesel Style Lab one and this cool Dirk Bikkembergs zipper belt, which are quite similar.

So the fashion show they put on during fashion week was for nothing...?

I have a belt that looks freakishly similar to that...I bought it for $7.50 at Target.

:woot: Seems like a bit of a trend.

Foxie-Pooh, my belt is similar in style yes, but it's painted white, and than the paint is cracked, and like Alex said it unzips in two belts (and it's seemingly small things like that are exactly what make designer items, and especially Ann's items, stand out).

DieselStyleLab

What ever happened to DieselStyleLab, i loved them they were so different from everything else here are some pics from their fall winter 03 show on www.firstview.com

I love them...

However, they seem to have seriously down scaled, even to the point where the diesel style lab site has been removed...

http://www.dieselstylelab.com

just takes you too the diesel site now...pah!

I know geeze what has happened to the world of alternative designers. All of them are conforming to this blah style that every single brand has already. I'm just glad that some designers are sticking to their guns. IE VERSACE!!!!!!

I shop nearby me called Sarah coggles, in York, the real York...they are stocking diesel style lab, so they're certainly still around...

I'm glad they haven't sold out, and let every shop, boutique and department store carry them actually...which diesel have done...

its a bit boring no? like we've been there seasons ago..

thanks for bringing this in casualuxury.. :flower:
