stupid question, how do you pronounce "homme'?

like Brian said, "ohm"
don't do "ahm" like a bunch of people do :p I've had an SA pronounce it "ohm-uh" and "ho-may" before, too :p

so... i was reading thru and i always thought u spelt dior just how it was spelt ... what is is D - eye - o(soft r) or some thing ;)

and givenchy is shee - von - ce
or Givenchy = Jhee-Von-Shee

I'm confused...I thought "Ohm" would be "owm" as in "home"...?

Anyhow, it's like "um"...it's a very short vowel, with a glottal. Almost rhymes with "come" (except a bit brighter, slightly more open.)

Hope that helps! :flower:

Just to put my mind at ease on the matter, Moschino is pronounced Mos-kee-no and not mos-shi-no, correct?

Which reminds me...is schiaperelli italian or german? I think she's italian so it's skee-a-per-elli correct?

I didn't..I'm referring to where you suggested we meet up ;)

haha I can't remember! oh right! lol!!! I think your brand pronounciation is fine!

does it really matter how one pronounces a word- we all speak differnty and personally i adore the variation. i cringe when i hear someone labouring over a pronounciation in a dept. store.

well, I think if you like a certain label, you should at least know how to pronounce it correctly.

i was in Saks and I heard a guy say "I like these Zeg-Nah's.." for Zegna. it's just tacky a bit in my opinion :p

zegna- pronounced zen-ya

ok i admit it- pronouncing the g is unforgivable...

nobody's mentioned this so maybe it's just me.

PHILO, as in phoebe philo. I've always avoided saying her last name out of uncertaintly and fear of a potential faux pas.

I thought it was Phy-Low

^Me too.

How about the Prosum in Burberry Prosum? Is it pronounced just as it looks?

Crap...I thought it was Phee-Low
Thankfully....I don't have to talk to anyone about her so I have avoided the faux pas
