otherwise, i guess the thing with dior is that they are always better closeup!seeing_double said:The fit usually isn't relaxed in stores either, you are just presented with larger sizes.
Oh yeah? You think there's not much you can do with a mermaid? Hmmmm, I can think of a few things to get up to with a mermaid, depending on the mermaid.Fuuma said:This collection is like a mermaid; gorgeous to look at but there's not much you can do with it.
lordevan said:i disagree. it seems that the sleeves are wider in the retail versions, and the armhole is also more relaxed. anyone else notice this?

There are certainly pieces like the leather jacket, trench-coat, classic suits, etc.
Hedi has formerly done the eveningwear for day thing. but using treated, or technical fabrics that contrasted well with the rest of Dior's look.
The very classic suiting fabrics used on some of the pieces here don't support the evening for day thing in my opinion.
Because of the very specific cut/proportions and formal suiting fabrics, items like the tail-coat and double breasted blazer would look quite awkward with jeans.

This was only a runway collection with one precise message. They'll be a showroom stuffed with goodies that will round out any other daily needs. Runway collections are only ever a slice of the pie after all.
Good or bad, his work is very influential, so if more young men can be persuaded to make an effort in their appearance then he's done a noble deed imo.
