Nothing groundbreaking...but there are pieces I'd like to explore in person

I think we can all agree that the choice of models has to reflect the aesthetics of the house. Dior Homme is about 'skinny, white boys' and they suit the clothes perfectly. Of course, this doesn't mean that a non-skinny boy, a black boy or even a manly man can't wear it, which is proven by Dior's costumers and celebrities.

What's particularly difficult about commenting on the black guy in this show is the fact that it enters the race area, which is always subject to misunderstandings. I don't think Slimane should have casted a black model simply because I don't think it suits Dior's aesthetics. I would, however, always expect to see black men in Armani's shows, for example, because it suits his aesthetics.

Whether or not Dior's black boy in question is handsome or not is a matter of taste. Generally, I expect to see more 'pretty boy' types in Dior's shows, which I don't believe this guy lives up to, black or white. Anyway, it's a brave move on Slimane's part consumer-wise, and who knows, Dior might increase their sales this way.

i'm sorry if i offend anybody with this, but this has got to be the most effed up thing i've ever read on here!!!! i am what you call a skinny white boy, but i am still offended by what you said!
i've seen plenty, I repeat, plenty of skinny black guys wearing edgy stuff like this, like comme des garçons, yohji y., etc.

im glad to see i wasnt the only one offended by this comment. myself being a "skinny black boy" i indulge myself in avant-garde or edgy clothing... comme des garcon, yohji, dior homme.. those brands are the ones that i gravitate toward.. so to hear someone say that african american models should not wear dior homme on the runway touches a bit of a nerve. it is close minded thinking like this that keeps african american models in single digits.

I wasn't aware that Giorgio Armani catered to the African American aesthetic.

I think we can all agree that you are not the creative director of Dior Homme.

i like it. a bit of a blast from the past with the 80s hairdos. different. But i wouldnt buy anything from the collection. maybe a mohair sweater

I'm not too blown away. The collection as a whole feels nonplussed. And the hair scares me. :)
But the camel overcoat, post #101, 6th photo (or whatever it is) looks nice on the model.
As well as the suede biker jacket, post #102, last photo. (If I'm wrong on the fabric, please correct me. Thanks!)

I love the hair.
The clothes aren't too exciting though.

Dislike: colour is dull and WEIRD, hair sucks, it looks very plain to me, i think it is some kinda Ann Dem and Yojhi mixed. Nothing really strikes me from the first look of the show.. it is just not what i expected from hedi !!!

Like: the background setting, shadow of "Follow me" ,"Reflection"(the long sleeves hanging out the jacket) and "boys dun cry"(the cropped pant tuck in boot) asethetic alike, the quality could be the best since VOTC!!(seems like it, although i would say A/W06 quaitly wasn't bad as well.)

Q: is heidi staying or not?

I like maybe one or two jackets. But I really want to get a closer look at the cardigan.

What I love so much about this forum is that you have people who adore this show and people who abhore it, and it's wonderful. It's show's like these that proves the subjectivity of fashion! ^_^
(I rather like the show) I just wanted to say how interesting it is to see peole with such drastically different views, esp. since sometimes it feels like one is only allowed a certain view about fashion and any disagreement is equal to certain death. I guess I just wanted to say it's great to see people keeping the spirit of fashion alive. I know it put a smile on my face.
(I know its a stupid thing to say, sorry if I've annoyed anyone with my corniness X_X )
