Ah, good then... I'll have to grab a pair... or two :D

Just try to get your hands on the current F/W 2005 season´s sneakers, then. Although they are "only" made in Rumania, the quality is honestly good, given the reasonable price point. Next season will be entirely made in Italy, but that´s also evident in the price point... and I sadly can´t see ANY improvement in terms of quality.

I don´t know, but I liked the fact that he had at least some approachable pieces in the collection that didn´t fall into the category of crappy, overpriced merchandise, such as randomly silkscreened tees and plastic jewellry.

There´s a small selection of garments in his line 14 that are replica designs, and they always have a separate label that decribes where the original garment came from, the aproximate date/decade and such. The fabrics are often improved, but the overall purpose was to bring back interesting construction techniques/details, I have seen a particular 1920ies gardener´s pant from this winter that had an unusual closure and the fabric was also very nice, a very distinct heavy weight, ribbed twill with a sateen-ish grip. It was very good...

Exactly what I was going to say - Margiela isn't being sneaky. Although I thought it was line 22

any know what the name of the style of hat feature onthe fw05 runway is called? is it a trilby? fedora?

any one know if any store has any dior homme/borsalino hats left?

Anyone wanna guess how the next collection will be?

HE HE. You'reprobably right about the T-shirts at least. Personally, I don't have a clue, since I don't read GQ and care about trends:rolleyes: ..Anyone know where Hedi's been lately? :innocent:

Neither do I :flower:

Hedi's probably DJing at some trendy Parisian night club with Pete and Kate.

i really like that look, but purchasing the suit from a guy named KDOG....
that and i already spent all my money on Christmas gifts...

Chances are if you're buying that "suit" from kdog, then it's not even the suit featured in that runway photo. That dude just buys old stuff from the outlets and uses recent runway photos.

^^
yeah i've noticed that a lot.

i wouldn't but it even if i had the money on me.
if is spend that much, i want to try it on and everything, at the store, to make sure i really want it.

Not true. I have had several pairs of the original german army sneakers and I can tell there´s a major improvement in the construction of the sole (the inlay is by far softer, also the rubber sole holds up with the shoe by far better than the original ones). The leather is also by far more subtle and higher quality, last but not least, they produced them as well in some different colour combos (vintage red and black/grey).

They are indeed replica designs, but definitely not re-labeled or commissioned. I also happen to think that they are very reasonably priced at around 170 €, that´s around half of what a Dior sneaker would cost, and the quality is fairly good. Margiela might be Diesel-owned, but it´s not all about dull quality and huge racket.

I'll have to take your word on it :D

At my cursory comparison, I couldn't tell much of a difference. Down to the numbering on the sole (the german sizing) they were identical. My german ones have held up very very well to near-daily wear. If given the choice, I definitely wouldn't spend $200+ on the Margiela ones... considering mine were around $15 :p

I have to say, the vintage repros that you talk about that MMM does do sound interesting though!

It's basically a fedora. NYC boutique was sold out when I called them nearly a month ago.

For the next collection...I can't imagine it getting any uglier, so maybe there'll be some kind of improvement somehow??? Nah, it'll probably suck horribly. Even less details and more t-shirt prints. Even uglier jeans. Every outfit will be copied directly from Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, and Pete Doherty. NO CHANGES!!! :judge: Dior will be designed no more, only churned out...very lazily.

Albert, Aloharag.com has some of the line 14 garments.

The first time kdog sold a "suite", I thought he'd just made a typo. Now I've noticed that he actually thinks "suit" is spelled "suite".

Does anyone know what's the deal with the Argentina seller on eBay that sells tons of Dior Homme suits?

The cutting seems a bit loose for Dior Homme, however he's selling for more than 1 k for the BIN.

Can anyone comment on this?

I think he's selling Christian Dior pour Homme, not DH (see inside tags in pics)

Yeah, that guy's trying to rip off people who are less knowledgable about the brand. People have been complaining about him on the DH MSN forum for a while now. The guy doesn't reply to complaints...just adds more and more annoying crap. He's got to be breaking some kind of eBay rules by falsely representing his auctions, but nothing is ever done about it.

that's just sad, trying to rip off people who don't know enough about the brand....but back on topic i'm looking to buy a pair of dior homme jeans but i hear the quality is rapidly decreasing with each new collection, no more selvage denim etc. i recently found out about a store in a'dam that still carry stuff from votc and luster and other older dior collections so that would be a better idea?

Sorry for asking this, but what's the difference between DH and Cd pour Homme? :$

Yep.

The CD Pour Homme stuff is a licensed brand or something. I'm not sure...but it has nothing to do with DH.

I noticed that he constantly bombards the Dior Homme search on eBay with multiple auctions of his suits at a very high price.

Does anybody actually fall for his auctions? Cause I don't think he's making any money at all, considering that he has to pay all those eBay fees for his unsold expensive auctions.
