good morning, Winston.

I had always assumed the grey glitter jeans was basically a grey version of the blue lurex...upon closer inspection, I guess not. Not really a fan of either to be honest. The grey glitter jeans got carried over and are $5,500 at Joyce. Talk about a rip off.

I had thought so too, thanks to Jost for clarification that they're indeed not. I did rather like the blue version, just put off by how thin the denim seemed.. HKD5500 is pretty damn steep

yeah and the orange overdyes this season have been raised from $4,200 during VotC to $4,400 during S/S 05 and now they are $4,900

Joyce seriously out of whack with their pricing.

My favorite Dior Homme sneakers of all time are the plain, kinda patent leather looking white hi tops from Strip.

What do you guys think of this outfit: Carpe Diem black leather shirt + charcoal Helmut Lang tee + Destroyed black jeans from Strip + Strip White hi top sneakers?

^Sounds hot. What belt?

Here's an excerpt from an article I just came across from January 04...

"The first Dior Homme jeans were introduced last spring, and the creative director Hedi Slimane sheepishly admits he wears jeans "almost everyday." Slimane has Dior's jeans physically worn in for a few days before the shows.

His tight, low cuts are made by hand in Japan; a process that entails washing and distressing the traditional Japanese ring denim and gabardine that can also be waxed, lacquered and embellished with one-of-a-kind scratch marks. Dior's Strip denim pieces for spring are inspired, Slimane says, by emerging rock scene bands like the Kills, the Datsuns, the Darkness and Kings of Leon.

Slimane wears Dior Homme jeans, but he recently saw a friend in a Helmut Lang black gabardine pair he thought looked good. "When they don't work, it's quite scary," says Slimane about the tricky process of finding the right jeans. He prefers a flat back and low waist that "feels natural."

Karl Lagerfeld wears Dior Homme jeans. He appreciates the tight fit and availability of his size 29 or 28, a rarity in men's selections."

As do I. ^_^

Is Joyce the only place that sells DH in HK? None in IT/Swank/Lane Crawford etc.? (I haven't been back to HK in a good few years!) I believe Joyce likes to acquire the big licences and just capitalise on the brands that are exclusive to them.

My niece is working in fashion in HK and was telling me of how the company she works for was trying to stop Joyce from getting the exclusivity to Ann Demeulemeester.

Alex, those sneakers are truly beautiful. I actually prefer the version without the metal rivets myself. Its ridiculous how much they go for on Japan Yahoo Auctions, or even eBay these days, more than the original retail price (which was already pretty sky high!)

Wow Karl Lagerfeld as a 28/29 ?!

Never would have imagined... i thought he was more like a 32 or so...

I too prefer them as a size 28/29 ^_^

Yeah Joyce is only major retailer of Dior Homme in Hong Kong right now. Then you get the small 'water goods shops' that sell bits and pieces of Dior Homme, like accessories, sneakers, bee t-shirts, most commercial items...not really worth mentioning.

Thanks for posting that article Alex I've actually been looking for that piece for a while...i just wanted to re-read it for the hell of it ^_^

What do you guys think of the black gabardine cotton jeans like this season? I think they're listed under Luisa Via Roma as the "Army" pants...are they basically the same as black canvas jeans of VotC? If so the price increase is ridiculous...it's like what, $540 this season? They look great for a basic, worth considering on sale I guess...I have no idea what i'd wear with them though, since my wardrobe is so casual.

 Oh no...how much are we talking? What was the retail price, and how much have you seen them go for?

Well...regardless, I'll be getting them sometime. I love them too much not to hunt them down and go broke.

wats corso como??
and store???

thx eagle eyes.... i missed that totally.

10 Corso Como is one of those really exclusive boutiques/cultural 'museums' kinda like Colette. I really wanna go to the one in Tokyo...i hear they're open til 2 AM and you can even sleep there overnight if youre shopping too late and dont wanna go back to the hotel.

how awesome would that be...my school has 'Meijer Madness' at the beginning of the year where Meijer's open like all night and students just roll in and stock up on stuff for the year...'Corso Como Madness' would be even better. Pull up in a phantom and get a shopping cart, start filling it with coats, jeans, shirts...

I read in his diet book he's a 38 in coats because of his wide shoulders. I thought that was more interesting.

As for that crystal shirt thing, I can't recall the price (it might be a different piece) but i remember it being discussed or somethign similar in the last thread and it was going for an insane price.

that shirt is 900 something, and the t shirt that mouko is referring to is the sheer t shirt with swarovski crystals which is 2,000

Hey guys, just to let you all know, I've listed one of my blood wound shirts on ebay.

Black shirt with red sequins, Dior size Large.

Check it out! I started it at $1, I'll let the market decide what people want to pay for it.

Cheers,
Albert
