Just came back from a select store here in Osaka. The shop owner had been to the Dior Showroom in Tokyo and showed me a few pics of the collection.
Gray seems to be a dominating colour and there are lots new T-shirt designs although I didn't like more than one or two of them.
Like Jost said before, the collection it much more than what we've seen at the runway so far.
I especially like the shirts with really small collars, the ties and some of the in my opinion quite original tops.
There are, to no-ones surprise I suppose, a few new denim models, with the destroyed denim undoubtely on the top of most peoples wishlists, but some of the other washes/treatments looked equally interesting to me, at least on picture. I am especially interested in seeing a pair of dark, brownish jean with a rather severe wrinkle treatment, with my own eyes.
There was much more, but my short time memory is not what it used to be and I'll have to get back with further details.

Oh, on the shoe side he only had a few pictures. Most of them looked kind of like the current seasons shoes, and I saw a model which to my eye looked like the low rise SS05 converse rip-off but with colour, I think I there was a red and a blue one.

I just remebered that there also where a few knits. They where ripped quite a lot, kind of like a jumbo version of the ripped knits you can see in stores right now. They where all in bright colours like red and green and looked very fragile.

Hey all,

Whatever happened to the MSN UK group ? Came back from holiday and it wasnt there anymore.

The new SS06 stuff sounds quite interesting, far more so than the runway pics.

It somehow makes me sad to hear you liked the coloured canvas sneakers and ripped jeans, I don´t see what´s very "new" about these, in my opinion, they don´t contribute to a very distinct Dior Homme look, or in other words, they rather underline the fading of what Dior used to be into something that is now pretty much an urban hipster brand. I always hear you guys complaining about certain celebrities wearing Dior in a bad way, but these two pieces somehow summed up the whole commercialism of what had to be added to those difficult to sell pleated pants and long-in-the-front-short-in-the-back-blazers...

The cobweb sweaters were indeed very nice, but I don´t see them in any of the colours, they work best in greys and most definitely black, I ordered one for myself and YES, they are probably not practical, yet beautiful and unique. I also liked the shirts with very small collars and ultra-narrow ties, I think I will wear the combo with black shirt and hot fushia or electric blue tie.

COBWEB SWEATERS??? I really can't remember! Please feed me with details as it seems these are a must have for next season.....^_^

i agree with u about the commercialisation of DH nowadays. but we all know it has to happen. thats where the $$ is.

i guess its a good thing as more and more people know the brand (just look at the number of posts!) Even tho they may only own 1 or 2 tees, it gets their foot into the world of hi-end fashion and allow them to learn more about the DH brand and its history. (and spend they life savings!! ha!)

so eventually those kids would save up enough and blow it off on the proper DH stuff, eg suits.

I started getting into DH cos of their suits. I own 2 + a rench coat. both r the "short at the end" type jackets. and their tailoring are just superb.

I would probably never buy a tee or DH sneakers. but its the bread-and-butter stuff for Dior now....
i fail to see what justifies the price of those sneakers.... :yuk:

Jost

Hey, I never said I liked the ripped jean and I tres deteste the coloured canvas sneaker.

I want to see what they've done with the ripped jean IRL before I judge them, and although I agree with you that it doesn't add anything to Dior (especially since every other brand seems to be doing them), I have always kind of been in love with ripped jeans since the Strip days, and if the quality/design is anywhere close to what the Strip ones are like I'd gladly pick up a pair.

About the cobweb knits, I agree with you that they probably work best in gray or black, although it's not really my thing.

So this weekend I brought my spendings on DH in this month over 2K.

I bought the V-neck distressed knit in charcoal. Even though the details are less than on the original VoTC version, its still a nice shirt. The one thing that bothers me though is, that it is more scratchy than the VoTC version (which I also own). The one shown on the VOTC runway is made of really soft and comfy wool - this still being a fine knit, isn't as comfortable. Is this yet again a sign of DH has brought the quality down a nocth?

^ yeah unfortunately..

How do you guys clean your DH button down shirts..? Dry cleaning?

I hand wash mine, dry them flat, and then iron them by hand... it's how I take care of all my Dior clothes. Tees and jeans I just dry flat.

I haven't yet had to wash any outerwear aside from my hoodie. I figure I'd take them to the dry cleaners.

For this Spring 2006 collection, I recognized a lot of punk elements... very Sid Vicious combined with 1940s nostalgia. The checkerd details go perfect with this collection. I love it.
This is not my favorite collection for spring/summer... I rather 2005. It was more laidback, slouchier and urban.
This isn't bad at all!.... I see that Hedi is trying now to deconstruct suits... which is fun.

I had thought so too, thanks to Jost for clarification that they're indeed not. I did rather like the blue version, just put off by how thin the denim seemed.. HKD5500 is pretty damn steep
Like the S/S 05 tees, I'm glad the weight of the jeans are no heavier than they are, or I'd be sweating even more during the summer. I think the jeans from Strip are ridiculous as spring/summer items. I'd freakin' die if I wore the destroyed jeans during the summer here. Tight black coated and lined jeans in 90 degree weather? No thanks. For winter? Hell yes. B)

FTB, I didn't know you could sleep at 10 Corso Como. That's an interesting tidbit.

Hey guys, I need your help again. I just ordered another pair of jeans which cost me less than two ps2 games! Since I'm going to resell them I'd like to know at least what season it's from. Oh, do Dior jeans come in size 46 -like dress pants? Obviously it couldn't mean the standard jean size would be 46, no? Because the seller tells me the waist size is approx. 86cm and its size is 46. I'm assuming my provider has no clue whatsoever... (also, the value of Dior) lol, fine with me :D

I've attached a runway pic which I think it's from...but not sure. Hoping someone can confirm or correct me. Thanks in adv.

What Dior Homme stuffs do you currently have?

Four jeans are arriving soon which cost me less than $1,000! Unfortunately none of them are in my size.

Also these used sneakers in size 41.5 for $200. Quite small, eh? I'm not sure if it'll be easy to sell these...

And finally, for myself this leather piece for a dead price which you guys won't believe (haven't received it yet but I'm starting to dislike the grey part... I may sell this if it doesn't look good on me)

I'll hit you guys up when I list my items on eBay!

Jun,

Jeans from SS'03 and previous were tagged in Italian sizes (44,46 etc.) though they did run much larger, a T.46 which should equate to a 30" waist would actually fit a 32" waist or thereabouts. Hope that helps.

yes Dior jeans do come in 46, they are from the exact season you posted your runway shot - S/S 03 aka Follow Me. That's my size too, I wouldn't mind taking those jeans off your hands but I'm broke right now.

Jun, those sneakers will NOT be difficult to sell at all; I wear a 40.5 or 41 myself, and those sneakers run big anyway. And you should get at least a $100 profit, even used. And please, if you ever find anything in XS, 44, 28/27, etc. for similar ridiculous prices to what you've acquired so far, please let me know.

yeah seriously...(I'm a size L, but the above statement applies anyway :p)

Holy sh*t.... 5k sterling pounds for Pete Doherty's cape...

I sure hope it is covered in coke then....

"I have the gold boots and I love them. I got them for $700 at the New York store back in August. They have held up very well, and are extremely comfortable. The heel...when seen in person... is not as high as you may think. I also just recentley purchased the duffel...but mine is in the black aged goatskin. I saw the gold...but since the bag is so small, I thought it looked too much like a "boho" women's bag" -mb117 on men style.com forum just thought it was pretty funny. i thought you had the two toned ones man? cuz as far as i know dior boutique never got those, or do you have both? and where did you get the black duffle bag? considering i bought the only one they had? haha :D can you post some pics?

Why would you care so much about what he has and what he does not have ?
