I wasn't trying to generalize in any way... but yeah, in the end it is really up to the individual's taste...

oh no.. I didn't mean you were generalizing... :flower:

hi first post here. i have a question about the dior raw 19cm for all of you with the knowledge.

i tried on a pair of the 21cm in a size 29 and they fit nice and snug in the waist, but i'm not keen on the slight bootcut. is it safe to say the 19cm will fit the same in the waist or do i need to size up/down?

I would say that it is cut the same.. but the leg is cut from the knees down is cut slimmer... I hope this helps!!!!

i'd agree with ionn26, dior raw jeans tend to keep their size/shape (although they do tend to stretch a little) - in my experience its the treated denim that ends up causing all sorts of problems

skinny guys...

yeah, i agree about it looking terrible when skinny guys wear baggy clothes. i cant wear baggy tops or shirts (which is about 90% of most clothes produced for men) but the DH fit makes a virtue out of being skinny. but i cant imagine it working for bigger guys - what's the largest size they do? anyway, it would still be interesting to hear the female perspective...most women seem more to lust after Dior Homme clothes to wear themselves...

i like how hedi slimane has dressed pete doherty. im surprised that doherty hasnt sold his clothes for drugs!

does hedi slimane have any plans to design for women? sorry if the answer is obvious.

in SS 06 the 19cm raw jean is definitely also cut a little tighter on the thighs, as well as below the knee, but has the same fit at the waist as the 21cm. i tried both but the 19cm was just a little too tight and i ended up buying the 21...

may be, just may be

^^ a lot of the guys on this board.. don't fit the DH aestethics... but they still seem to pull it off just fine... you don't necessarily have to be skinny to wear Dior Homme...

In jeans.. i believe it is sz 36 or something...

are you one of the women mention by Jason7770 who is lusting for DH stuff to wear for themselves???

There were talk of him actually creating his own label specifically for women under the name 'hedi slimane'. That was two years ago, but it was scrapped, because Hedi wanted to 'focus more on menswear'(YEAH RIGHT!!!WHATEVA), although if you do look at a lot of his design, especially this season, a lot of it is wearable for girls... he did also do a kilt before.. Kate moss has seen sporting DH jacket... :flower:

i remember there was some talk about him taking over designing a dior collection for women... the shops already sell dh in women's sizes (size 26 jeans, european size 40 coats etc)

how do you know doherty didnt sell the clothes for drugs? there was some stuff designed for him that came up on ebay...

seriously? :o

42.. in JEANS? that's crazy...

i could fit into that .. almost twice

as you mentioned Pete Doherty, it reminded me of the press release for Hedi's new exhibition "As Tears go by" @ the Galerie Almine Rech, Paris on Saturday (7/1 -18/2) where it says:

" His second book, "Birth of a Cult" (published by Steidl/7) is in a way the narrative, through photography, of the embodiment by a human being (Pete Doherty) of the transgressions of a generation, its questions and its shared romantic fervour, as well as its "mal de siècle".

...wasn't there anyone else available?!

(on a side note...I wonder how much of his extracurricular activites will have influenced the f/w collection)

The one with short blond hair ?

I remeber there was a busty brunette serving once before, she was hot !:woot:

oh yeah and she looks hot in dior homme

I have a few questions about these shoes:

picture from ebay

Mainly, how well are they constructed? Are they comfortable? I like the simple converse-style, but I cannot stand the unpleasantness of the cushioning and cheapness of converse shoes... yuck. Also, from the pictures , the dior shoes seem to be lined on the inside with leather... is that the case? I just want some overall impressions before I dig in...

I need your guidance!

Ive got them, they are lined with leather which makes them comfyish. First time i wore them they cut into my ankle and had blood down the back of them (mine are white). They are ok now though, i put some ankle custions on them.

^ they are very comfortable... i have those in a white leather high-cut version... at first they were a little bit stiff, but then after a couple of times i got used to them..
