Dior Homme S/S 07 Paris

This is awful. Someone needs to remind Hedi that he is designing for Dior Homme, not the juniors section at Hot Topic. This clothing is so ugly and effeminate, it's completely disgusting. I mean, come on... bangle bracelets? The little bows and sashes tied around the waist? Even the hair and especially the jackets... this is pure garbage. Hedi must know that he's not signing another contract because there is no way in hell someone who wanted to keep their job would design a collection like this.

If you know Hedi well enough his designs base on androgynity. I love this collection so much.

I agree something's changed with Slimane, but don't you think this collection is better than just ripping off an entire look from Pete Doherty like he did for the s/s06 collection? At least this is new.

Personally, I really like the leather/pleather trousers and the jackets are beautiful as usual. The hair is AMAZING!

But I'm going to keep my mouth shut till I see the entire collection tomorrow.

Not exactly, because as bad as borrowing Pete Doherty's clothing for SS06 was, stealing the wardrobe of some hardcore goth teen girl from the Midwest is surely worse. I understand that pretty much everything after VOTC wasn't really innovative, but at least it was sensible. I also agree that Dior Homme has been slightly androgynous in the past (at least enough that they produce women's sizes), but this is like making an entire collection for women. Please tell me how practical these clothes are for a man to wear...

Just take a look at the pictures of LVMH's CEO and Lagerfeld. Can't you see the disgust on their faces!

Well, Karl's dermatologist has made sure he can't make facial expressions and I can only see the back of Arnault's head. However, to say that Slimane's designs have been slightly androgynous is a bit of an understatement, just look at his choice of models: Everything Slimane is totally androgynous and it's always been like that. About the hardcore goth teen girl from the Midwest, I think that - on the contrary - this collection is far more toned down and much lighter than what we usually see. I like how Slimane has achieved to make so many trademarks for Dior Homme that keep reappearing such as the multi-pocket/strap trench. He's a modern Thomas Burberry.

Well Amo people do wear his clothes in public and dress in a very similar style(at least in LA they do). Something I do find ironic is that Hedi does not dress in the Dior Homme style at all. My friend saw him at a gay club here in LA standing all by himself and he had on a Star Wars tshirt, jeans, and some Converse.

I get a Raf vibe going on here more then usual.

A bit too feminine for my liking.
a know his work is always androgynous but this looks closer to womenswear than men.
i prefer previous collections

i agree with marquischacha about the raf vibe. it just jumped in my mind after i left the page. i love the half trench and the see through top but rather than those nothing really exciting. probably have to see more.

Maybe he got fed up because of the outfit they put him in for the a/w show...

I used to crave for Hedi's clothes when he was at YSL and the first couple of seasons at DH, but now I'm just too old and fat for this sh**

But he had some nice pieces for fall 06..imo

I'm not saying that there is no one who dresses like that. I'm saying that it's not a very masculine look. I can confidently say, and I mean no offense by this, that over 90% of the males who dress like that in public, day to day, are either homosexual men or punk/hardcore/goth teenagers. The runway has become more and more similar to what comes to stores, and this really worries me with SS07. I do not feel that, financially, there is a market that warrants a collection like this.
