I know it's been done a lot before, but I finally got down to it and shredded the back of a sweater:
the front of it was that open weave scallop crochet to begin with, and the back was just solid but it was so old and shrunken that i never wore it anymore! unravelling it made it fit again, and i think it looks way better... tried to make a sort of diamond pattern rather than making it completely loose and drapey as most people do... psyched to pair it with a lace-and-tulle skirt, some ripped tights, and either sky-high lace up boots or socks & sandals... yay!
^ ooomg!! thats gorgeous!!! i saw a tshirt at the mall the other day (your sweater beats it by 100000 times over) and it was $150!!! i might give it a try to make one also!!
I'm planning to DIY these fab Prada ss 2010 shoes.
I already found a pair of transparent shoes from thrift store.. and I also have bag full of chandelier crystal..
I'll let you know what came out when I'm finished
