Do you mix metals?

im that ocd about it i never mix .. i even change my nose stud to gold or silver mini stud according to outfits etc :ninja:

you know...
i never used to...
but now i think it seems like i want to..

...

No never. I want to but I can't. I guess it's one of my obsessive compulsions. I only ever wear silver-toned jewelry and hardware.

I am not opposed to mixing metals, however, I agree there are some cases especially if you are using statement jewellery where it might look too cluttered or messy.
I think if done right mixing gold and silver necklaces for example can add interest to an outfit in its own right.

yeah- i'm thinking it's really modern to mix metals actually...
i like it very much...

see how things evolve...?!?

:p

I can't imagine not mixing metals. I particularly love when a necklace has a silver chain with a gold pendant, and vice versa.

The rule saying you shouldn't mix metals is outdated. It is not for everyone, though, which is perfectly fine.

Sometimes, and I do enjoy it.

It's much easier when when wearing a single statement piece is composed of mixed metals...which pulls together any additional pieces you throw on. Ex: the necklace above, Rolex watches, etc.

But it depends on the finishes and aesthetics. Pieces with similar aesthetics, as well as tarnished metals work more easily together. Also, gold+diamond pieces mix easier with silver and platinum because the diamond emits a cold, silvery glimmer.

i enjoy mixing my jewellery. i dont pile tonnes on but have a few necklaces/pendants that are different metals and wear em together.
im eager to see the bike picture too :)

Still love this...

Lately, I have been mixing a silver braided cuff and a black lacquer bangle with gold detailing... it feels very laid-back yet elegant... which is what I tend to go for overall...

I also like to mix metails with other materials such as wood or silky fabrics..
It's very fun to play around with + it's a nice way to add a personal touch to your look...

i'm really liking copper metals just now...
i like mixing it with gold and brass...

I always mix. It's a bit granny to match everything.

I think so too but I think most people look a little better in either silver or gold and should stick to one or the other. Wearing a lot of one metal can actually be a sort of statement, especially if it's skin flattering. Sometimes I opt not to wear a necklace and just go with earrings and a ring or some such combo. Today I am full on granny but my earrings have yellow glitter on them and are more like little art pieces than straight up silver earrings.
