Do you do 'The Fashion' every day?

I am very self conscious and do fashion just about every day. I'm slightly obsessed by how I look and make sure that I look nice and presentable everday.

Once in a while for a class I wear gym pants and a t shirt (I'm in college), however I love dressing up. My job right now is a visual merchandiser so I feel it's my responsibility to look as stylish as the mannequin outfits and fixtures I put together in the store for people to buy, because the customer need to trust my judgment. Besides, fashion is my love!

I'm a college student but I don't own any sweatpants... But somehow I still manage to look like a bum half the time :ninja: Half the reasoning behind it though is that I'm always wearing sneakers to class because it's been winter and I need socks to keep my feet warm. Also beause it's winter it's easier to just bundle up and look like a hobo. And when you're walking nearly a mile to class not to mention how far between classes, it's a lot easier to wear VERy comfortable shoes.

But I must admit, I do dress up when I go grocery shopping and during the weekends in general because I enjoy looking nice. However now I work so I spend most of my time dressing in my work uniform instead of what I want to wear :(

I try to do the fashion every day. Even in the morning i feel like staying in bed, later on the street when i check myself in shop window it makes me feel better. :D

they do make comfortable flat shoes that can be worn with socks OTHER than sneakers

have you considered flat ankle boots?

On a normal day, I wear jeans, t-shirts (nice ones, not shirts withbeer logos or anything. :P), and tennis shoes. So, not dumpy, but hardly fashionable.

Although, that may change, as I'm interviewing for a job at Macy's next week. I'll be in trousers and proper shirts everyday! :o

I'm not particularly fond of ankle boots though :(
I have been looking for a nice pair of riding boots but I can never quite find the perfect ones. I'm just so picky very often with shoes and such. I love spring because it means open toed shoes! That means I'll probably spend more time getting dressed for classes and looking nice since my feet are tons happier when they can breathe air... Now I'm talking about my feet like they're seperate living entities

Lady Muck, karma because you sound *exactly* like me. Or... I sound like you. Whichever.

I don't work in the trade, however, and I work out of a home office and rarely step foot outside. Plus I bike to work. But yes, when I go out, that's definitely my time to enjoy fashion.
Erin, I bike to work every weekday except Friday... It bothers me a lot about how to dress properly that doesn't look too hard or fashionable for bike but still keep my own style.

I take taxi to work on Friday becoz I go out on every Friday night to enjoy my fashion time :flower:

i always dress well
but only some days do i look my best, like when i have a haircut or something
or when my hair is going right

there is just something i need to keep my hair moist
after taking a shower it always looks a bit dry and soft and fluffy and i hate it--it looks terrible :ninja: maybe i need pomade ?

I dress well for someone who goes to university. I'm not being classist, I'm poor. It's more like college kids will just leave their dorms in jogging pants because they don't care and they don't really consider looking for a mate in a lecture. Or they were procrastinating.

Anyway, I do dress well: Nice scarf, skinnier dark jeans, and a wool coat for winter. But I wear the same crap everyday so it doesn't make a difference

[/4AM kind of post]

I don't have the money, creativity, patience, time, or self esteem.. so i do "the fashion" 4 times a month at most

I just avoid looking like sh*t anytime. Even if im home I try to look decent. When I go out im all out.

i came to clarify that even when i am not doing "the fashion" i think i put together my look better than the average person?

I'm constantly doing"the fashion" thing, I own a boutique so I feel obligated. My now finace laughs because on Sunday when I don't work, he says" put sneakers on" and I have so much trouble doing that. SOme days I wear nice jeans to work and feel like I'm not fully dressed..is that bad?

I don't have the energy to do it everyday! Mostly I dress with enough care to appear polished, but not very fashion-y.

For example, this is what I wore today:

I can see it, and I like your style. I think wearing that kind of look is good and stylish, I see nothing wrong or sloppy with it.

Me too!!

Looking presentable or fashionable is a part of my lifestyle. It's natural for me as I just cannot go out looking nutty. ^_^

I almost always do the "fashion thing". I really enjoy getting dressed and the culture of fashion and style is such a huge part of my life! Sometimes I feel like I stand out, not in a positive or negative way, and that a lot of people don't "get it" (the clothing), but it's a part of who I am and what I enjoy.

Sometimes if I need to make a late-night grocery run I'll be pretty casual and not pay much attention to how I look or my appearance... sometimes a bit sloppy... and of course those are the times that I run into people! :/

When I'm at home I'm in sweats.

Otherwise, it's pretty strange for me not to do the "fashion thing". There have been times when I haven't, and it feels weird...
