Do you do 'The Fashion' every day?

Y bf always wants me to wear jeans and a t-shirt and trainers but I just cand stand it... I'm always wearing something more... "fashionable" like tunics, skirts, shorts, dresses, boots, flats... I have a boho style, a style and I want to keep it.
So we fight over clothes sometimes...

I dress up for work (office wear in the office and a suit if going out of the office on business). I'll also make an effort if I'm going out with friends or going shopping or running errands. I like mixing and matching my wardrobe, experimenting with makeup, hairstyles, accessories, and so on. If I am sick, tired, stressed, going running, popping out for ten minutes to the shops or whatever, or just bumming round home, I wear sweats. Anyway, no matter how horrid I or anyone else may look on a given day, there are bigger things in this world to worry about than looking less than fabulous.

What a previous poster said about hair and skin I agree with- that if you have good skin and a good haircut then that drastically reduces the time you "need" to spend putting on a face and styling your hair.

I always wear at least something nice, but not overly done unless it's a special occasion. I'm fast though. :D

5 out of 7 days I have to wear school uniform, which is VILE (think blue potato sack with sleaves and you've pretty much got the right idea for the sweater, plus its unisex so incredibly unflattering) but even then I have a nice pair of ballet flats for shoes and a pretty tote bag. I will never leave the house with out brushing my hair and tieing it up in a nice ponytail/bun if it needs to and putting on a little mascara. Most days when I'm not at school I wear jeans, layered tops, boots and a nice coat in the winter and in the summer jeans and a nice fitted t-shirt or tank top and a sweater or fitted hoodie if the weathers not so good, with ballet flats or a pretty day dress if its sunny with ballet flats or some nice flat sandals. So while I'm not exactly wearing the most fashionable clothes, I don't look sloppy and I keep exercise clothes to what they should be used for - exercising

Well I usually try to look fashionable but sometimes I'm tired/don't feel like it and just get frustrated. But falling back on a good pair of jeans always helps!

Haha I guess I do 'do the FASHION' every day-though fashion and personal style are very seperate things to me-I can never leave the house in an outfit I'm not happy with-so I end up running the most stupid errands in sequined tube tops, 6 inch heels, and vintage crinolines.
I love to dress up though and every second I spend in a sloppy outfit is a second wasted! :P
My friends laugh at me though and people always ask me why I'm so dressed up.
Come to think of it, I guess I don't have anything else to wear but 'the FASHION'. I don't even own sweatpants...besides a pair of adidas track pants, but I purchased those so I could wear them with my Dries van Noten beaded heels and tailored shrunken blazers....

I sound pretty ridiculous :P

Well the most days 'I do the fashion'. When I go to school, shopping of going out. Only if I only go to the supermarket, I'm dressing casual but never sloppy or something.

i couldn't do it everyday... mostly simply because i am NOT a morning person at all, so most days when i'm going to work or university i'll roll out of bed without a minute to spare on putting an outfit together. it's wash, brush teeth, run straighteners over my hair and chuck on the nearest clothes so i'm not late... i wouldn't say i'm a britney though. i'd never leave the house in trackies or anything, if i'm in a rush it's skinny jeans, flats and a top. as long as i don't have to get up early for it, i do 'the fashion'!

I don't do it everyday, that would be quite impossible,
but I certainly try and look put together when I have to leave the house, and have places to be.
I don't really feel right otherwise.

Finally, someone else who appreciates crinolines! :woot: Where did you purchase yours, if you don't mind me asking? I have a skirt that works well as a crinoline, but I'm in the market for a genuine style. Ebay only seems to come up with wedding apparel.

haha I have two, one is a bright red tiered one above the knee and the other is an ankle grazing white tulle skirt-I got both of mine at a vintage store in Tulsa, Oklahoma but if you search crinolines on eBay pretty regularly a non-wedding one pops up once in a while! ;P

I kind of figured that most college students end up going to school in 'throw-on' clothes -- yet slowly, that extreme form of casual becomes their style. Saturday nights are then poorly mounted outfits that are just plain tacky and 3 years ago trendy.

I go with the safe route and make sure I'm not liable for anything less than what I approve to be part of a very good outfit. Although, my "not doing The Fashion" is still somewhat trendy and put together.

If you are in a rush in the morning, why not pick an outfit the evening before?

^ Also, if you have a capsule wardrobe, you can pick something in less than 30 seconds

no.. not everyday, but i try to do it as often as i can.
coz sumtimes, fashion school could be so DEMANDING. *as in u have to got the look, the time, the money, the brain, and everything else @_@

my best days is when im able to go to school in at least 4 inch heels, and make-ups.
the worst is when im only able to put on my tattered, almost shredded sweater kind of thing, shorts and converse. with a black eye to indicate u didnt get any sleep at all the night before and u're running for deadlines *gawd, those days are horrible.

Yes, but that's primarily because my wardrobe is very selective. I think that's known as a capsule wardrobe. I have items that go with one or two things, but 80% or more is essentially matchable in terms of color etc. My tees, knits, button down shirts and blazers/outerwear can generally be paired with jeans or dressier pants. This means that I could theoretically get dressed in the dark and look reasonable. This eliminates a lot of stress.

Of course I have certain things that are saved for more specific occasions. I stick mostly to AA tees or more casual shirts when running around, but aside from some running/sleeping clothing, I don't own anything that's going to embarass me on the street.

^ I think what you're saying is you don't own any proper slumming clothes ^_^

Where is that slumming thread ... :innocent:

I usually try and do the fashion thing mostly coz i dont feel so good about being in sweats or scruffy. Sometimes I dont shave and have some stubble but thats as messed up as I would be. Id say im closest to Chase Crawfords character in GG
