Do you do 'The Fashion' every day?

this might be a bit off topic, but I think undone nails, natural hair and bare face can look really good with "fashion" outfits. It ads cotrast and a personal touch..

looking immaculate is overrated. immaculate is not immaculate and vice versa. my two cents.

^ thanks. i was feeling particularily lucid after listening to some jim jarmusch audio interviews.

i try to make the look 'interesting'

a scarf there, a pair of funky earrings or a styling trick makes all the difference

totally agree, lena :flower:

as an art director, i don't ever have to get really dressed up for work, but i always look pulled together...even on the weekends, you're not going to see me in sweatpants and uggs...i'll throw on a cool hat, some nice jeans, maybe some flip flops...

i probably dress alot nicer than i need to for work, considering that i'm either sitting at a computer or in the production room mocking something up...

hmmmm. good point, when i go to the corner store... i just wear what I already have one, which is usually a plain tshirt, plus cotton pants. nothing fancy really... ...but it's never anything close to dumpster style....

I'm completely anal retentive- I wont even answer the door If I'm not wearing makeup-

leaving the house in sweats- beyond comprehension!!!

I can't even sit around the house much without make up on. OK well i do sometimes, but even then I still feel I need a bit of mascara and concealer and lipbalm.

I always 'dress' myself, even just going to the supermarket (but not so much then as say, shopping in town or going out for dinner of course) I like clothes and it seems a waste not to wear them when I have so many nice things!

Uni is always fun cos I can experiment without getting weird looks. One of the benefits of being student. Though I have to admit sometimes it seems like I'll get more hassles from people if I make an effort than if I turned up in my PJs...which I don't know if I could do...

Hm, interesting topic.
I don't even own a pair of sweatpants! I'm either fully dressed or not... at all:wink: :P

However, fully dressed does not mean "immaculate", not even a little bit!

I find it's a very seasonal thing for me. I have a lot of very pretty summer dresses. So in the summer time I toss on a dress and usually the dress pulls out my better half as far as fashion goes - I wear little wedge sandals, makeup, and generally look girly and take more risks.

But wintertime is another story. I revert to tomboyism. I mean, guys have it easy, sometimes I just wanna be like one of the guys! I do combat boots, jeans and black jackets almost every single day in the winter. I call it my "urban uniform". No makeup, hair pulled back or a headscarf or hat... just functional! I'm really busy in the winter with school too, that probably has something to do with it.

It's basically just not my way to be very fussy with my looks. I've got a lot of other things I like to think about. That said, I do have my theatrical days - I'm known to pull off the odd over-the-top outfit - especially if I have a little free time on my hands.

This is a great topic! I'm in college, and during the first week and last of each quarter and holiday breaks, I'm very fashionably aware of what I wear, but in the middle--what with papers, midterms, exams--there is just no time or energy for me to think about that. I wish I could be chic and pull together amazing outfits everyday of the year, but that is just not possible... :ninja:

i wouldnt say i do the fashion everyday certainly... i try to look relatively nice though... it is fair to admit i am getting lazier and lazier lately... which isnt a good think i know, i know...

love, Sonny xxx

I'm fashion-y almost every day, and I think it's because I feel self-concious without it. It honestly takes a lot to get me to leave the house in sweats and Converse and a plain shirt! Even when I'm in finals, I'm in jeans, a sweater and some sort of cute jewelry and flats...dressing down makes me feel boring for some reason, and plus, picking out outfits is fun. :P

I have just started a new job so I try to make an effort and do "the fashion" everyday. Its getting tiring because in the winter I just want to be warm and not wear heels. However, wearing sweats out the house is a no-no for me, unless i am off to the gym down the road.

For school, I usually just wear sweatpants or jeans with a plain t shirt. Same for the mall, post office, drug store, tanning, and any other random places..

When I go out if when I usually put in the effort, but sometimes they call me like 20 min before I have to be there so I always dont have the time.

I usually dress up whenever I go out. I overdress, but that's okay as long as I never underdress. Cause that's rude. I like to experiment, and will wear 6 inch wide belts to go to Target, my nicest sundress to go grocery shopping, or knee-high boots with my uniform. (they don't like that...) Yup, I guess I put a lot of effort into my outfits everyday.

i put in effort when i go out
however, if i don't leave the house for a day i will stay in my pj's - sometimes i even shower then put them back on :ninja:

i'm by no means a fashionable person. but, to be honest.. i never understood the idea of wearing things at home that you wouldn't want to leave the house with. why wearing something you wouldn't like to be seen in, and find ugly yourself? i understand that putting on make up, looking for the right accessoires or something like that takes time that you don't always have. but you can still look presentable without these efforts. after all, putting on some sweat pants is just the same effort as putting on something more decent. but sometimes i get the impression some people try to look as bad as possible because if it looks good there is NO WAY it could be comfortable. whoa, i have seen things.

an, then again, i always had a problem with those "comfy" clothes lots of people put on when coming home, there's no special occasion to dress up or they just don't feel well. i just wouldn't know what to do in a sweat suit.

^ when I walk out of my front door- I make an effort to look presentable-

but when I am at home by myself, I want/need to give my mind and body a break from looking good and from trying. It feels good to have my hair clean and product free, and my face makeup free, and wearing things that are baggy and completely unconstricting. I don't ever let others see me like that, but if I am at home, i see no problem with it.
