Does this work? I'm not going for anything fantastic here, cos I'm fine with it being just okay, but I wore this out a few days ago and my mother said it looked weird. And since my second guessing self takes these things to heart, I thought I'd ask for a more reliable opinion (i.e. not my mother's). Maybe the belt is too thin? Hmm. And on another note, the tank is dark brown, not black...

I hate to mention this, and I'm sure it's only my mother ... but very occasionally mothers have been known to be jealous & not want their daughters wearing something flattering. I will probably never forget shopping with my mother for a swimsuit when I was in college--and one of the SAs, very much in earshot, I went to school with, she was one of my good friend's roommate. I was trying on this swimsuit, really an old lady one piece in this very pretty emerald green, a color my mother likes to wear. My mother started screaming at the top of her lungs, You can't wear that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What she told me I could have was this absolutely hideous tan and white polyester brocadish two piece that only Gisele would look good in (and quite possibly she wouldn't either). I went home with nothing. It takes quite a bit to embarrass me, but this did the trick ...

I'm having trouble creating more than one good outfit with each of these items. Many of you are very creative and can make suggestions?

Bailey 44 top - Black jersey with silk/chiffon-type sleeves, ties in the back, ends about 3 inches below my hip. I only wear it with dark straight/skinny denim currently, pretty boring.

Mackage white leather jacket (Jerry) - should be easy to wear with anything but I would like outfit ideas that isn't my usual boring outfit of jeans and tank top.
