Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2025.26 Milan

It is a easy collection in there vocabulary to get in the stores and to get off the rack straight to the customer. These companies are in a battle. And these guys have always been smart. My take away great coats for the fall, fun cocktail evening wear for the club.
This generation lives for the here and now not for what they'll keep in their closet in 20 years. Here today gone tomorrow. The sexy grown up stuff from last season's is always in their stores so there's no reason to show it. I enjoy the black sexy stuff but this is also apart of their vocabulary that sells well. These clothes have no time and space as well they can be in Miami New York La Texas Shanghai Hong Kong all at once. It's kinda cool. Understated luxury only works in the North in the south (i'm in Miami) I haven't seen any of it because it's heavy and frigid. There's a group of people that want to have fun in the sun, so this is great.
the "romance" of these clothes is very close to decarnin's balmain imo. chic party girl. but it can be worn by a lot of different women.

Yeah..."cool girls"...right...Poochie says hi!

It lacks the confidence D&G used to be knows for. It’s just so lite that it lost any kind of impact and any signs of “sexiness” or “coolness” that the design team thinks they are doing is inoffensive at best.

I like the boots though.

I'm surprised by the negative reception to this, although admittedly some parts of the collection and the show itself were a real miss. Whilst this is a lot more "dumbed down" than the last three collections since Templer started styling, I thought it was a good accompaniment to the recent men's F/W collection (maybe not as good though). A lot of the looks are styled as if they are ready to be worn that way IRL off the runway and so are very accessible. Although the sweatshirt and oversize fur coat (Bottega F/W 21 copy?) are horrid.

The big issue is that the casting needed to be a bit more mature in order to ensure that the 2003 - 2006 aura was capitalized on. Once the Bodyrox track came on for the dressed up finale section of the show and the girls stumbled along like they were walking the plank it kind of killed the whole vibe of the show. Not to mention the setup with the scaffolding outside and the sheepish dancing at the end.

Was this styled by Emmanuelle Alt? The styling looked really « her ».
It was Karl Templer ...having Alt for this would be a better choice because of the idea of the collection..but i guess they are tied up cause he does the campaigns too. The idea of a cool girsl first is it not label yourself as a cool girl, first mistake. Then they needed to give a fresh young eye to do that (it could be an older stylist but with a young fresh eye). Templer didn't pull it off.

Hair and makeup also didn't help.

5 look from the first part....5 looks from the black looks..and 5 from the party dresses and that's all i saved from that show. It didnt feel elevated cool girl doesnt mean only that way. I feel that the collection was very restricted in terms of style and that made it flat and after some looks it was all the same...and the beenies???? i thought it was too repetitive.

Some girls already are dressed like that so what's the point to replicate the street if you dont' make it your way,...

If you are gonna make them walk outside, step up the catwalk,it looked cheap.

The finale a little bit forced. It wasn't cold yesterday but i don;t know the idea maybe it was ok but the execution ruined it.

This is probably their best collection in a while. Their previous womenswear collections were see through and hard to wear.

It's better than the majority of the collections they did in the 2010s. Why are they going outside though?

I don't think those offsprings are as attractive and seductive as their sicilian widow moms even the theme has been done many time. It is smart to move on from that look but the result is disappointingly outdated clothes have been worn by young people in the past few years.

Right?! I quite enjoyed it for what it was. If there’s anything we’ve learned about D&G is that they’re part Sicilian widow, part smoldering Italian elegance, part young bedazzled jean girlie. We haven’t seen this side of em in a minute and I quite liked seeing it again, executed quite well IMO.

Dancing models should be forbidden by law, though.

The styling is almost overly literal, as if we've fallen into a rebellious teenager's daydream. I suppose that explains everything else.

well, the designers in fact wanted to bring a little (or a lot) of D&G to this collection and make a break from their last offering. Why? i dont know, it is just something they wanted to try. People from HQ applauded the balls to change direction now but are worried about their customer...

In worst case scenario they will retake the path they were going before this collection...

On another stories, Alessandro Dell"Acqua felt robbed by them according to his last post. i dont see a resemblance but designers and their egos who understands them...lol

Translation:
I'm re-evaluating Dolce and Gabbana! (which says it all)
However, the most beautiful for me is N21
