Dolce & Gabbana Mens S/S 08 Milan

Omg when the runway thing went all dark there were these lights and I thought there was some kind of motorcycle on the runway :ninja: but it turned out to be that outfit with the lights and a model with a horrid walk...
How stupid of me :innocent:

wait... this is s/s right? where are all the summer clothes? i like the clothes but man this seems very dark and heavy, esp. considering fashion's new obsession with global warming...

the only thing summer-y about the clothes were the knickers. i liked individual pieces from the show, but it's suited more for winter than for summer.

I really don't get why everyone is saying this is f/w looking.

Spring doesn't automatically need to equal whites, beiges, bright colors and nakedness. The colors aren't what makes something apporpriate for a specific season, it's the fabrics.

The only thing I see as remotely un-springlike is the styling.

It's just like the golden leather jackets. They just promote:

BE YOUR OWN DISCO! When you're high, you'd be DELIGHTED by being able to emit light from your clothes.... hehehe

I have a hunch that you're right!

But after staring blankly at the pictures for a few minutes, I think that I don't hate the collection. I'm just confused. The overall look is VERY Diesel. And the clothes themselves just look thrown together without much thought. (i.e. scarf with briefs) I'm just lost a little. And was their theme "Gypsy meets Military", by any chance?:innocent:

I guess the naked ones are naked because they couldn't fit their thighs into any pants? Enjoyed seeing Joschka Netz--too bad they put him in D&G though.

i like the scarves and the use of crocodile. but the patterns are just awful. i'm a bit dissapointed.

I'm confused as well. Hardly any cohesiveness. In between one idea, yes, but overall, not really.

The lights seem to be thrown in for entertainment. Like, trying to distract you from the seeing that it's literally the same outfit you've seen just before.

And I still can't get over the fact that those models can't walk. Where the hell did the hunky models with proper motoric skills go?

The models were so sad. The clothes were alright. And so typically Italian.

Thank you! If designers limited their palette for spring, men's shows would be extremely boring. When broken down, the pieces will work for spring, with a few exceptions of course.

i find it terribly interesting that dolce and gabbana finally got around to translating one of their most directional runway ideas for women into something workable for men...
