Dolce & Gabbana Menswear F/W 2025.26 Milan

Omg fcking yess ! Some of my all time fav DG mens collections are brought here

It's giving a bit of Dsquared², I like the paparazzi concept, I want to know how Meisel will translate it into the campaign. The Kit Butler-Dolce & Gabbana combo is perfect.

The first half was quite dated. As mentioned, it gave off dsquared vibes and the baggy denim was horrendous. Too many oversized faux fur jackets that are now aplenty at Zara. The mostly monochromatic second half improved tremendously and felt vacarello like at times. Yet I struggle to see any sort of concept here.

It's very Meta 2000s bc Karl did this exact runway concept for Chanel in like 2005-ish.

It was a good collection. It really gave the feeling of early 00’s Dolce & Gabbana when their shows were on a smaller scale.
The only thing that was missing was a charismatic cast of models and a touch of modernity in the details.

I just hope that the fur is all shearling and not fake fur.

I don’t know, I’m a bit confused by the revival of the 2000’s because it’s almost never really done with a modern eye (because it’s quite a recent time in terms of aesthetic) and they just have skinny people in those clothes and call it a day.

That being said, good collection. I’m excited for the womenswear and I suspect the campaign will be a white background and typical Meisel photography.

That’s where the revival stops. Meisel is not revisiting his early 00’s work lol.

That Chanel show had actual supermodels (and Nicole Kidman?). The paparazzi was believable there.

For the anonymous male models, not so much. (I didn't really watch it through, sorry if they had big names and I missed it.)

Let's see what they will give us with the women's fashion show which usually follows the same theme as the men's one.

Because it's a shallow pool to draw from. The 2000s weren't really characterized by anything particularly worth reinterpreting. It's mostly just nostalgic kitsch. Which is all the more fun tbh. There's always room for a bit of kitsch with me.
