The brand never disappoints. There are even moments when I think that th styling is what makes this collection not the pieces themselves.

Exquisitely elegant, as usual. Although his prints are sometimes very far from my very own style/personal taste, i always end up lusting after everything. The details here are amazing, the cuts (especially the skirts and the outerwear), the styling... hell i even love that fur coat towards the end... everything just screams elegance.

I can see why if other people like it, the colors, the combination of different fabrics and drapping. But in Chinese culture, these textiles are ancient old, not even my grandma would have slightest thought to wear them.

^^^That's a huge part of Dries' charm for me: He's able to translate the dusty, old traditional characteristics of the designs from a culture and give it a renewed freshness into such high fashions without anything ever looking costume-y, gimmicky. His take on old-world Chinese dressing and patterns look so achingly lustrous, with all the fading colors, subtle and rich embroideries, that just hints at glamor, and a casual refinement that's just as appropriate for the day as it is for the evening. He's a master at that kind of fusion. Definitely a breath of realness and freshness from all the Paris offerings so far.

His take on layering-- and with such wintry, plush materials, looks so light, so elegant, and still all so practical and cozy. Those washed khaki pieces in the most exquisite, but still casual shapes are simply lush and supreme. And only Dries can convince me that the mullet-style skirt can work so beautifully. Nothing here is a caricature but everything is rightfully dramatic just enough. Maybe not love love love at first sight for me as was the case with his men's offering-- but definitely love at first sight for this.

Still a thrill.
