Dries van Noten

they have the silk top in the dark floral print that luckyme returned ... I still think it's cute and is definitely the best thing Browns has so far ... the green jacket worn with the floral dress looks cute too, although so pricey and each piece alone isn't that great

^Yeah, the flower printed draped top and the beaded dress are the only "Wow, that's nice " items I've seen so far in that S/S collection.

to be honest...
i almost never like the way brown's buys ....
i don't understand who their customer is, but it isn't me!...

:ermm:

am I crazy (don't answer that) or do the recently uploaded pieces from the spring collection look totally unappealing?

brownsfashion.com

To be honest, I didn't like his S/S 08 collection as a whole. These pieces don't seem that bad after seeing some of the other outfits from the show.

I got the most gorgeous pair of Dries boots on sale from Louis Boston... They should be arriving today. I'll take pictures when I get them.

woohoo, those are pretty amazing. the double buckle...havent seen that version before. thanks for posting, I'm totally in awe.:woot:

I got 2 tops on sale, including the famous knot tee.

^ Aby, what color of the tee did you get?
cutxpaste, lovely boots!

Some of the non floral spring items, I really love the white blouse, which will probably be impossible to find ...

those are incredible!!! thanks for posting them tourist. is the white piece a top or a tied jacket?

Yes, the mens Dries selection is even more bland! No transparency, sheer material or low cut neck lines you saw on the runway! ... the only good thing is they avoided the overly shiny material! :ninja: ...

tourist, the white puffy thing is indeed a jacket and its called cissy. butter in brooklyn is getting it in. the sleeves make it, very Victorian.

Browns looks like they have decided to dress women in Dries bedclothes this season, so far.

^ luckyme, thanks for the information on the jacket! I'm excited to find out with Butter will carry. I wonder what the price will be on the jacket ... the sleeves are beautiful.

Tourist, both of the items you posted are great! Very wearable. Can you buy from that site or is it just a blog? I'm a little confused.

it's funny but I am finding that I am being much more cautious in my choices this season...but I am not sure if it is because of a tightened budget or because I have enough to satiate my esoteric clothing nature for awhile. I may be nearing the point of just buying very special items that make me tear up once seen. I wonder if Dries, who usually has at least one or two of something I can't buy quick enough once found, will have that effect on me this spring.

Those jckts are beyond perfect! The color of the 2nd is a bit bleh, but even so...

I imagine they will transition well into one's wardrobe and work quite flawlessly with a # of different looks whether casual or dressy in any climate (with proper layering for colder times, of course). Can't wait to see the other pieces that aren't printed. Thanks for posting, Tourist!

rollagasper - I believe that is a blog for a store in Japan. I'm not sure if they ship internationally ...
wiw - I agree, I think esp the white blouse, I could see it working with so well in so many outfits. Although I worry about the volume, I feel like it's a piece I'd have to try on in person. You know, I'd to see how you style things, I bet it's all beautiful!
lucky - you are on a tighter budget too this season? I feel like I've definitely cut back on impulse purchases, I'm eyeing so many things but feel like I have to wait until I see all the season's offerings before spending the rest of my budget ... well, ever since the dress I bought, that is!
multitudes - the men's buy at browns does seem bland ... I do love some of the colors there though. my husband would probably love the sweaters, but his work place is very conservative, so ...
