what paper is that?

I never was really into Dries more into Balenciaga untill this hippy hype. So in the shop I saw a Dries top and high heels which looked reather bohemian I asked which collection they were, she said spring summer 2008. But when I got home and looked at his collection I coundt find it at the ss08.... Does he also have another kind of line like pre fall or pre summer? I also looked at previous collections and the items werent in it. Maybe I should take a few digital pics of the items so people can help me identify from which season they are, I would like help from either a Dries fanatic orsomeone who just knows. Tnx!

What is a showroom piece exactly? I went to the shop again to buy more Balenciaga and yes some more Dries that were shown on the fashion shows. I also asked her about the things I bought Friday she said no they are really in the show I said well show me... then I asked maybe he leaves some pieces out of the fashion show and she said yes he doesnt show everything.... weird. Maybe I should take a few pics of the non fashion show things I bought so one can identify?

Also should I look down on clothes and shoes that were not shown in a fashion show because maybe the desigener thinks they were not presentable enough? Although they were the same price as the fashion show items plus dont look worse actually the items I bought looked better than some shoes shown in the show.

^ I don't think the unshown pieces are necessarily inferior. If a designer designs 12 styles of shoes for one season, it would be very unfocused to show them all on the runway. I think the more "showy" pieces are sent out on the runway (since it is called a runway SHOW), but that doesn't mean the more wearable stuff is looked down upon.

Oh, and please show us what you bought! I'd love to see them. :)

Yes, to add to rollagsper's comment FTF, fashion shows actually present a very small fraction of the entire collection of the season. many pieces are also one-offs, meaning they never go into production.

I'd imagine especially with Dries' stuff, a lot of which is heavily embellished...plus fashion shows are very tightly edited.

anyways, I'd say showroom or runway, a beautiful Dries garment is always a beautiful Dries garment. :flower:
